Do these nutrient levels look OK?

TSH 0.17 (0.27 - 4.2)

T4. 14.8 (12 - 22)

T3. 4.25 (3.1 - 6.8)

TGAb 361. (0 - 115)

TPAb. 9. (0 - 34)

B12. 136. (25 - 165)

Folate 8.5 (2.9 - 50)

Vit D. 94. (50 - 200)

CRP. 0.7 (0 - 5)

Ferritin. 129 (13 - 150)

I did this blood test four weeks after a previous one which showed me to be slightly overmedicated on 100mcgs (TSH 0.02, FT4 23, FT3 6.85). I reduced to 75 mcgs and these are the readings following that reduction. I have now gone back to my previous dose since I was beginning to feel unwell on 75 mcgs. My question is do my nutrient levels look ok? I am not taking a any supplements at present, except 200 mg selenium.

My GP only looks at TSH and in the past has suggested I was "going hyper" when my TSH was low within range, so I guess she will want me to reduce my dose. I'm keeping away.

I am not Gluten Free at present, since I fell off the wagon a couple of months ago and didn't really feel any difference - my TG antibodies have increased, but there has been no difference in TPAb levels.

Any suggestions as to how I should go forward from here would be most welcome.

Many thanks

Anne

Bagster2,

You weren't undermedicated on 75mcg but there was scope to raise FT4 and FT3 which increasing to 100mcg will do.

That looks like an Active B12 test which means deficiency is unlikely >35.

VitD 94 is optimal but may require supplementing during Oct - Apr to maintain levels. 1,000-2,000iu D3 daily should be sufficient.

Ferritin is good.

TGab may have risen because you stopped gluten-free.

Thanks for your reply Clutter. It's helpful, I think my main worry is that I was a bit overmedicated on 100 before - T3 a little over range. But I feel pretty good on 100 so will stick with it. I'll try and be stricter with gluten now the holidays are over, but gluten makes no difference to how I feel and I get fed up with the eye rolling.

Many thanks again for responding.

Bagster2,

If FT3 was over range you were overmedicated. See how you go on 100mcg but if FT3 is over range again consider taking 75/100mcg alternate days.

Gluten-free doesn't work for everyone but it does help bring down antibodies for some.
