Levels look good but feel more anxiety and hair thinning more?

These are my latest levels fasting and meds 12 hours before which was 50 mg Tironsint and 10mg T3. Did not take my addition 5mg of T3 until after test.

TSH 0.980. Range 0-5

T3 2.8. Range 2.0-4.4

T4 0.86. Range 0.82-1.77

Ferritin 133 Range 27-159

Thank you for any comments on this:)

Have you had your vitamin levels tested? Can't comment on bloods as I don't take T3 but I'm sure someone else will.

Your Ft3 is too low in the range in my opinion. Many need it well up in the top third. You are not even have way through the range.

Your FT3 doesn't look good to me. Far from it. Much too low. Not surprised you still have symptoms.

TSH should be suppressed as well if taking any form of T3 so yes, under medicated.

In some cases the thinning hair has nothing to do with the TSH or other levels, but the Levothyroxine medication itself. There are literally hundreds of similar reports online. All connected to Levothyroxine. Some GPs will deny it, but the evidence is stark.

My Mum went through the same experience. She still has weak thinning hair many years after starting this medication only.

I take levothyroxine only but have no problems with hair

However, I do find the quality of my hair is affected by vitamin levels, especially it seems, the B vitamins. I don't know if this is true for other people though.

I have Grave's and both PTU and Methimozole made my hair fall out. What really helped for me was taking a multivitamin hair product called Hairluence. Hair stopped falling out after about a month of taking it. I live in the US and got it on Amazon but people in the UK said they found it on iHerb.

I am on my second month of Hairfluence, can’t say I’ve noticed much difference myself yet. I also use Nourkrin shampoo with a different conditioner because quite frankly I found the Nourkrin conditioner rather weird to say the least.

I've heard other people say that about Nourkrin too. The worst part about hair thinning is that it's so hard to pin point what is causing it. Medication? Thyroid? Nutrients? DNA? Hormones? We never really know.

T4 is even worse. It's only 4.21% through range. T3 is only 33.3% through the range. Just being within the range does not equate to "good" levels. Optimal is what you need to feel well.

For most folks, free T3 needs to be in the upper quadrant (>=75%) and the Free T4 needs to be at least 2/3 of the way through the range. Here's a link to a calculator.

Ignore the Polish. Just type in your results, and then the bottom and top of the ranges for FT4 and FT3. Finally, click the Oblicz button. The percents appear below.

Ask your doctor for a 25 mcg increase in the Tirosint and then restest after 6 weeks. Based on where the numbers end up after that, you may need more levo and/or more T3.
