I'd like to find a reliable T3 source - please.

Having had a total thyroidectomy in 2011 I found getting back to good health very slow, eventually I was prescribed T3 and life got better. Sadly, economics dictates that T3 is no longer available on the NHS. Can anyone here help me with a relatable route of how to obtain T3. I do have access to private prescriptions but not oodles of pounds to spend on medication. Any ideas gratefully received.

If you take a look at the comments of this post, you'll see some advice in the comments about how to obtain T3 for approx. £50 within the UK or for cheaper, using the prescription, from european pharmacies: healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

It's not actually true, they can not ban prescribing, according to senior CCG executives at London NHS England meeting last week.

If your endo and/or GP say you have medical need. Your local CCG can not ban it.

But while fighting for it, on mater of principle, also order non Uk one via options listed

The BTA issued guidance that patients doing well on T3 should not have their prescriptions with-drawn. See FAQS for patients and GPs in british-thyroid-association...

CCGs do not have the authority to tell GPs what not to prescribe. Individual GPs, not CCGs, could be found in breach of the General Medical Services contract if they do not prescribe treatment patients have been told "they need".

The GPC has warned that GPs would be in breach of the GMS contract and could get into legal trouble by following the orders and refusing to prescribe patients treatments they have told them they need.

I would write to your GP (cc your MP) and tell your GP that the CCG does not have the authority to tell GPs what not to prescribe and you believe your GP is in breach of GMS contract by with-drawing treatment you have been told you need. Say you have been well on Liothyronine and wish to continue taking it. Attach the BTA guidance for patients and GPs.
