Reduce levothyroxine or not?

Hi,

I have added 6,25 mcg t3 to my 100 mcg levo. I decreased levo by 12.5 a week before starting T3 was this not needed? Would it be better increasing levo to my usual dose again?

Latest results before decreasing levo and adding T3

Tsh 0.05 (0.35-5.5)

Ft3 4.9 (3.1-6.8)

Ft4 19.4 (12-22)

Any thoughts are very most welcome.

Fint know yet, only been on this dose for little over a week. Feel some benefit of the T3 already but unsure if it was the right thing to do to lower Levo?

So you reduced your Levo to 100mcg daily. You said you "decreased levo by 12.5 a week". How much Levo were you actually taking daily before you reduced your dose?

A day I mean was taking 112.5

Well, as you've only reduced by 12.5mcg daily, that is a very small amount. I would stick with your 100mcg Levo plus your T3 for now.

6.25mcg T3 is the equivalent of between 18.75 - 25mcg Levo so you've more than covered the reducion in Levo.

Just my thoughts, not particularly advice.

Thanks, how soon can I increase T3 to 12.5mcg? After a week or shall I wait 2?

I would wait two weeks and then see how you feel.

Those results posted above, before adding T3, show quite good conversion.

19.4 divided by 4.9 = 3.95 and good conversion takes place when the ratio is 4:1 or less.

You might not even need more than 6.25mcg T3.
