Just been to see the doctor again and i've given up. Wouldn't refer me to a immunologist and wouldn't even acknowledge that my thyroid problem is auto immune related even though my thyroid antibodies are up. I'm taking thyroxine and suffering a worsening in symptoms while on this medication with my food intolerances. Also only got just over an hours sleep last night while taking it, I'm not even on my full dose. Was sleeping better before i started taking it again. Mentioned NDT, not interested, never heard of it. Sending me back to the thyroid specialist who wont consider T3 treatment or testing. I'd rather focus on what is causing my immune system to flare up and attack my thyroid which is surely the cause of the problem. I'm having trouble focusing, sleeping, breathing difficulties, swollen lymph glands. She thinks its all in my head. Just need a doctor that has a better knowledge of these things

Have you got a copy of your blood test results? If you post them here along with the laboratory ranges people may be able to offer some good advice and suggestions.
Thanks for the advice, I asked them about fasting and they said it didn't matter for your thyroid. I had a tablet early this morning but my test is at 10:30 am tomorrow so I'll give my next one a miss. I will keep a file going forward. I take codeine and on the odd occasion gabapentin. It's normally just at night to help me sleep. They're for joint pain really but I've not been able to stop using them because of these deep muscular aches I'm getting from the thyroxine, I can't get to sleep if I don't. I'd rather not take the thyroxine and be underactive than have this constant ache and cramping I think. I sleep better then too
Take tomorrow's Levo after the blood draw. You don't have to miss it out altogether.
Thanks. I'm hoping not to be out of bed long before the test if I can help it. I work lates so 10:30 is normally pretty close to my wake up time. Just depends how well I sleep i suppose. I'm gonna try not to have any pain medication either. Really, thanks for all the advice though. It's good to talk to others with the same issues
I'd definitely like to give it a try. So frustrating. I just wanna feel better. Any doctors I've asked about it have either never heard of it or don't prescribe it. I know its available so I don't understand why they wont just try it if thyroxine isn't working. Feel like i'm banging my head against a brick wall. It just makes me wanna stop asking for help off them because I don't feel like i get anywhere anyway. It's not worth the frustration. The amount of times I've walked out the surgery and just thought. i'm gonna have to just get used to being ill for the rest of my life. I don't wanna give up though.
