Elvera - when did you take your last dose of NDT before blood draw for this test?

I can't understand why you increased your dose the day before the test. It would have been better to test at the previous dose and that would show if you needed an increase.

Well, as T3 peaks in the blood 2-6 hours after taking it, the chances are that FT3 is actually higher than if you'd left the recommended 12 hours between taking NDT and blood draw.

TSH will be very low or suppressed when taking NDT (or T3) so that result really is irrelevant. It's FT3 that's important when taking NDT.

You were advised by Clutter in this post 18 days ago healthunlocked.com/thyroidu... to "Please hold at 2 grains for 6 weeks and then order a thyroid test including FT3 to check that FT3 level remains within range."

So I can't advise if you should continue at 3 grains or not. Whatever you do, for the next test it's best to follow the advice to fast overnight, take last dose of NDT 12 hours before blood draw, and an early morning blood draw would be better. Do this every time then you can compare results accurately.

Unless you have any particular worries about vitamins and minerals, you only really need TSH/FT4/FT3 testing.

Hi Elvira, the decision about whether you stick to 3 grains or not depends on how you feel. If you feel well with no lingering symptoms, then I would leave it at 3 grains. Your bloods look OK, apart from high CRP, which is an inflammatory marker.
