Fluoride in food and soft drinks which is derived from fluoridated water in production.

Recent information and past information indicates that fluoride in the water

can damage the thyroid gland. As some areas in the uk have fluoride added to water

where there are factories producing soft drinks and foods, it is likely some foods will have

fluoride which is not listed. Nutrition resource uk org shows that fluoride can be in foods such as tea especially tea and fruit teas in health shops. As fluoride cannot be removed

from the filtering process in water supplies, is there any new research investigating hidden

fluoride in foods in the UK?

I know you can access fluoride levels in your drinking water but no idea about anything else. Interesting thought though.

I am not sure regarding fluoride in food but I use toothpaste without fluoride it's safer.

When I was living in Southampton in the UK there was a debate going on as fluoride was going to be added to the water. I signed a petition against it and we won.

During that time I goggled fluoride and found lots of into, regarding it's toxicity.

in reply to

Yes it's toxic and filtration does not break it down - so it remains in the water.

In known areas where fluoride is in water there must be some food drink

manufacturers who filter the water for production but do not distill the water to remove

all chemicals including chlorine and fluoride. This should be public information under The freedom of information act but this info is not available.

I agree they are lots of cover ups regarding health etc. I think that it's worse in the states. GM crops etc.etc.

As our own follow up we could goggle areas where there is natural fluoride occuring in the UK for future referencing!

in reply to

That's an interesting post - perhaps there are mappings of natural fluoride in the water

in research? No one seems to want to know what harm fluoride in food drink and drinking water can do. The fact is that sponsorship of fluoride in tap water is given

by companies who produce fluoride from aluminium, and industrial waste.

What government links these companies have is unknown but it would seem unreasonable to sponsor chemicals which are known to cause health problems

especially as the manufacturers are gaining profit from, distribution of them in toothpaste, and dental treatments, food, and drink, lining of saucepans bla! bla! bla!

Dentists are so hooked on the lie that fluoride helps your teeth, that they ignore the fact that the most important organ to control metabolism and health, can be damaged fluoride even in brushing your teeth and rinsing, as the fluoride is in contact with the

mouth and throat linings, and cannot be washed away with ordinary tap water, or fluoridated tap water as it cannot be broken down during filtration.

There are areas in the UK with a high percentage of fluoride in the soil. Cornwall, Pennines, Derbyshire, and a few more.

In India there are whole villages affected by fluoride in the ground water and soil. It causes something called skeletal fluorosis which caused bone defects spines fusing together etc.

My conclusion is that fluoride is not safe especially as you have noted made from industrial waste.

I can see from your reply you have an in depth knowledge of fluoride in water etc. It is a shame

there is no watchdog water panel, in the government or independent orgs who can serve as

a reliable information base concerning the problems with fluoride affecting not only the thyroid

but bone defects presumably in the unborn child. I am personally disappointed that advert campaigns have influenced decision making misrepresenting fluoride as a health giving

property when in actual fact it is harmful. Thank you so much for confirming my doubts about

fluoride. If you know of any research or information whether the soft drink and food industry distills water in production, that could be helpful for healthunlocked users to quell unrest that somehow fluoride is getting into the food chain.
