After taking the advice given to me by the members here . I have today been to see my Endocrinologist armed with the latest test results and a copy of the Daily Mail article fully prepared to do battle in getting prescribed some T3 . However to my surprise he was incredibly well informed on the T3 situation even to the point of finding out who owned the company that is charging extortionate amounts for this hormone . I can name and shame him and say where he lives but I an not sure this is allowed. Suffice to say he lives in a vey big house and drives a Bently ! .
I am now in possession of this magic pill having obtained it at my local Boots for the costly sum of £170 for 14 pills in a pot , plus a pill cutter. I have also ordered some from a reliable source abroad 200 for £40 . My Thyroxine dose has been reduced to 25mg due to a TSH level of 0.02 . I have been told to add 10mg T3 to be taken in the morning . We discussed NDT but he said he was not allowed to prescribe it , but was aware of its benefits to a lot of patients . I am to go back in 4 weeks to let him know how I get on .
Fingers crossed this helps . Otherwise it's back to square one !
Thanks to all of you who have helped me over the last few months . It's been invaluable advice and much appreciated.

So good to hear a positive story here. I'm so curious to know why MDs are "not allowed" to prescribe NDT in the U.K. though. I'm sure there is some cryptic reason 🤔 but can't help wondering how one gets around that in your neck of the woods (private GP? Naturopath?) Just curious as its been asked here before.
How did you find this Endo? Thru Thyroid UK?
Anyways, good news for you and happy you sourced some T3!
I was referred to the Endocrinologist years ago when I was first diagnosed. I have seen him on and off over the years usually after an unsatisfactory blood test . I have always had a suppressed TSH level despite being on various doses on Thyroxine. I don't trust my GP as I was overmedicated once due to a mix up . Too many comings and goings at the practice ! I suffered horrendous panic attacks and was prescribed AD 's and diazepam. So now if there is a problem I go to see him . If you PM I will tell you his name . He practices at the Nuffield In Brentwood. Essex. He was very knowledgeable about NDT and should I wish to try it he would advise me on doses etc but said he would be struck off if he prescribed it . He mentioned Dr.P. He told me he has over 300 patients currently on T3 many with excellent results.
My tsh always supressed on various doses of levo. Am curious as to what yr t4 and t3 levels were? Mine are good but hypo symptoms persist on 150 levo although better than on lower dose. This seems quite a rare situation and im fed up of it 😔 I just wish I was that dreaded word... "normal"!!
