Hi all, just a quick note I have seen an Endo 5 times now over the course of 15 months, he sent me to see a dermatologist ( that took 9 months) to see if they can help me regarding my hot flushes , they asked about my meds I said GP had just increased my Levo to 125 three days and 100 4 days, she said let’s check your last bloods, my TSH was 5.6, I am astounded what has my Endo been doing, nothing as usual. Sorry about rant have to have blood test for GP this month.
TSH LEVELS: Hi all, just a quick note I have seen... - Thyroid UK
TSH LEVELS
Hope your dose has been increased.
I really wouldn't want to start on my Endo . . . .
You could request copies of your hospital records (free of charge now).
Don't apologise for the rant - more than justified !

😬😩🙈 blooming hell! Get yourself on 125 everyday. Wait 6wks and get your blood tested. You might even need to go up again!
Dermatologist seems more on the ball than Endocrinologist then at looking at bigger picture, and thyroid problems!
I expect he's a diabetes specialist and not particularly interested or knowledgeable in thyroid. They think it's easy. They don't know anything, really.
Did you have your T3 tested as well as T4 and TSH. Your TSH could be high and plenty of T4. Your T3 could be low. I’d definitely check T4 and T3 before you make a further T4 increase.
You could ask your GP to test T4,T3 and TSH for you while you are waiting to get your blood tests from the hospital as that could take sometime.
I was prescribed Antibiotics by a Dr for over 10 years for my skin. I had Hashimotos for 10 years too. It wasn’t my skin, it was the lack of T3 medication as I wasn’t converting T4 to T3 well and I was suffering from Hashi symptoms. I was on Levothyroxine only. Since introducing T3 my skin is great.
I would also ask my GP to write to the Endo and ask why he ignored the high TSH level.
It’s all a waste of NHS money and time. Some Drs think there will never be a come back. But we are more clued up then ever with the help of Thyroid UK and the internet.
Hi yes agree re skin - not a lot of people are aware that the skin is badly affected by low thyroid condition and i don't mean just dry skin - lesions I had went within days after 2 years of every cream etc, on the market.
I think it's comical that medical ignores health complaints/issues for cost reasons to only get smacked with a huge cost when the patient becomes so sick that now a pill and a few blood test won't do. Seems counter productive.
Why on earth would a dermatologist help with hot flushes - those are generally hormonal? Sounds like a particularly useless endo.
Flushes could be hormonal or allergy to meds..... Really annoys me that no one looks at the whole picture but just their alleged area of expertise. I have several issues : surgical menopause, fibro, hashi, sub clinical hypothyroid (allegedly) and spontaneous angiodema /allergies but not one person I've seen is interested in any possible links or comprehensive plan for treatment. Good luck!
