In December I increased my thyroxine from 125 to 150 (new results coming Friday for Thyroid and Vit D) I started to take Sublingual Methylobalamin (Vit b12) - 1 a day. Also, Jarrow B-Right (Vit b12 +Pantethine) 1 a day. Ferrous Fumarate 210 mg (which I finished last week) and also a Vitamin C (1000mg) 1 a day.
So here are the results:
Vitamin B12 665.0 (211-900)
Ferritin 81.7 (12-300)
Serum Folate >24.0
Here is my question....should I continue with the Vit b12 and the Jarrow and the Ferrous Fumrate?
thank you.....

I'd keep to the methylcobalamin B12 as we have to be at the top of the range and some labs state 1,000 but 900 is near enough. Are you aware that having a good level of B12 can probably help us to avoid dementia or alzeimers.
Thank you will keep taking the methylcobalamin B12 ......Since upping the vitamins and thyroxine, I feel like I have more energy and my hair is thicker......so all good.
saltcoats I agree with Shaws about continuing with the B12. Your current level is what mine was when I originally tested and I started supplementing with Solgar 1000mcg. I got up to over 1000 and still supplement now, usually 5 days a week (weekends off), to keep it there.
Your folate has come up really well. When taking B12 you will still need to carry on with a B Complex to balance all the B vits. If you get any signs of tingling in the extremeties, change to one with no more than 10mg B6 as someone mentioned the other day that they were getting tingling and the level of B6 in her supplement was 35mg. Long term B6 greater than 10mg daily can cause tingling.
You have a little way to go with your ferritin, recommended for females is 100-130. You could continue with the ferrous fumerate for now, retest after you've finished the packet, and if you've reached the recommended level you can maintain it by eating liver regularly, or maybe reduce iron supplement, possibly get Solgar Gentle Iron 20mg.
Continue with Vit C regardless of taking iron supplements, it's very good support for adrenals. Dr P recommends at least 2000mg per day. I take 3000mg.
It's good to hear you feel better for taking the vits and mins
Thanks seasidesusie......when I get my thyroid results on Friday I will post them.....very interested to the those results...... Can you take too much Vitamin B12 along with the B complex....?
Thank goodness I have Prime on amazon, I really get my money's worth...lol
Excess B vits get pee'd out as they're water soluble. What I have done, when I think my B12 has gone too high (it got up to 1400ish) I just reduce dosing a bit, say alternate days, and now I've gone back up to 5 days a week.
