Hi everyone, first time posting so sorry if it's a long lost.
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in 2014 (TSH was greater than 100 and T4 was undetectable, antibodies very high) I've been on the standard T4 replacement since that time but didn't react well at first to the meds.
I haven't felt anywhere near normal since that point so recently I went to see a private endo who asked my GP to prescribe synthetic T3 along with my T4. They wouldn't prescribe so my private endo prescribed Naturethroid. I've taken my first dose today (2 grains /130mg).
I've just read on here that I should be starting low and slow?? Have I taken too much already? So worried about feeling awful again - I've got a 3 year old and a 5 year old that I need to be well enough to look after, I can't afford to feel worse.
Do you think I should have taken a lower dose or split it?
Thankyou

If you were already taking thyroid hormones, usually you then switchover to an equivalant of an alternative thyroid hormone. I shall give you a link which may be helpful.
If your Endo prescribed NDT at 2 grains, he must have an idea I feel sure of what your needs are.
1 grain of NDT is stated to be around 100mcg of levothyroxine but it can vary slightly in each patient. If you feel at all overdosed, i.e. fast pulse/too hot, just miss tomorrow's dose and begin lower the following day.
