Hi this is my first post.

I was diagnosed over active and on carbimazole for months. After a blood test endo rang and said I was now significantly under active and to stop meds at once and see him in 3months instead of four. Sorry I don't have test results to show but I wondered if I could be taking any supplements that would help me to feel a bit better until my appointment I feel as though I'm in limbo feeling awful while I wait to see him in 3months.

Best wishes to everyone and hugs to those who need one.

Welcome to the forum, Parsly.

Being over medicated on Carbimazole will make you hypothyroid and that will make you feel awful. Stopping Carbimazole will allow thyroid levels to rise and you should feel better as that happens. If you start feeling hyper you should go to your GP and ask for a thyroid test.

There's no point in supplementing unless you have had blood tests which show vitamin or mineral deficiencies or low levels.

Thank you for your very fast reply clutter. I will take your advice and wait till I see endo and have another test in February x

If you are not feeling well ot is better to see the doctor. Three months is such a long time and a lot can happen. I was told the same and went off the medication while waiting . I ended up with very dangerous levels my dose was increased to 50mg and i am undergoing Radiotherapy for thyroid eye disease and steroid infusions. Which rather such as they would have been monitoring me on a monthly basis rather than leaving to wait for 4 months. Good luck
