I have been taking levothyroxine 100 and 15t3 for 2 months now. Supplementing iron since August....these are my latest results....why do I still feel so achy???

iron 14.5 (14-30)

ft3 5.9 (3.5-6.5)

ft416.2 (9-25)

tsh 0.03 (0.3-5.5)

shall I increase t3 to 25??

thanks a lot

Have to say those figures look pretty good to me.

What are you supplementing your iron with? Do you have a ferritin level?

I supplement with ferrous fumarate 210 mg 3 times a day....

I supplement vit d daily with 4000...and the level is ok so is B12....my ferritin is on the lowest but within range and iron as above....how long will it take for iron tablets to kick in??? Can it be the reason why I feel so achy.....and dizzy ...?

Could you post those results (ferritin, B12 and Vit D) with the ranges?

Agnes79 profile image
Agnes79 in reply toNatChap

ferritin 4.9(4.6-204)

b12 530(189-883)

folate12.9(3.10-20.50)

Your B12 could be a bit higher, ferritin obviously is on the floor. Low ferritin, as well as causing aches and pains itself can also hinder the effectiveness of your thyroid meds x

ferritin needs to be higher then if it is at the lowest end of range.

thanks! Do you think this might be the reason why I am still achy?

Might well be. I used Solgar gentle iron, 2 per day taken with a high strength vit c tablet but it still took months to get my levels up. Mine were also right at the bottom of the range x
