Hi everybody, I feel compelled to post as I still see lots of patients having issues with this vile condition.
I recently saw a post that said one person is having an allergic reaction to their thyroxin but this is a hormone that your body needsso I am not sure about this.
I am not a DR in fact I am a retired engineer but I have the qualifications having had my thyriod gland removed in October 1999 and its been a pure torture since then and the money its cost me.
I am wondering if most of all your issues or at least a lot of them are your adrenals.
Before I met a Dr who understands, I was taking 5 grains and 100 MCR of t4 a day to enable me to carry on that’s a lot of thyroxin and what is strange I had no fast heart beat or shortness of breath, no signs of hyper , in fact I felt just normal..
Luckily I was put on a regime of DHEA and Pregnenolone and now at least I get some goods days and bad days.
Many years ago I went a British Thyroid meeting with NHS and their was a few NHS DR also attending. Around 200 people there and we had the standard NHS rubbish that only T4 is the gold standard with a good TSH reading and anybody using Armour thyroid should wash their mouths out.
I was lucky enough to be chosen to asked a question and the question I asked was how many of the patients felt well on t4, around 98 percent of the people put their hands up and said they still felt unwell. The surprise to me was the NHS dr said , then its not the Thyroxin but something else but I have been banging my head against a wall as what is it and that is where the NHS lets us down as they just do not want to know or do they know. Or you go down the depression road. I have taken Prozac and you still feel rough but more happy about feeling rough it makes sense.
I was lucky enough to seek the help of Dr Bhanna, from Joburg, he informed me that if your adrenals are not working then you body will not carry the thyroxin into every living cell in your body.
My suggestion to you all, if you have tried different doses and preparations of Thyroxin both T4 and T3 then it has to be another factor and that could be your adrenals.
I really do hope my message helps you all, as I know this is a torture.
Have you noticed when you are feeling rough, everything is a major problem, the other day I was hanging up my trousers and they fell of the hanger, normally I would just pick them up but on this occasion I felt it was the end of the world.
Kind regards
John C
