Been struggling mainly with chronicle Hairloss for 11 months now. Started on 50 Levo then went to 75 as tsh crept up a bit 2 months ago. My tsh has never been over 10 and last test was 1.9.
Finally persuaded dr to do full thyroid and found out yesterday my TPO anti levels are 1192. Very emotional and not sure if it's thyroid as also hair loss is really devastating. Finally seeing a good ends next week after just being dealt with by gps. As have one autoimmune problem worries hair might be another such as Aloepicia areata diffuse. Also will see a homeopath next week. So fed up and desperate to find answers people say don't look the internet but experts have been a long time coming this will be my first endo app so I'm crossing everything!
Any similar experiences or thoughts greatly appreciated 😊

You have an Autoimmune Thyroid Disease called Hashimoto's which is diagnosed if the person has high antibodies. Your thyroid gland is under attack with them and you will become hypothyroid. The treatment is the same as hypo, i.e. levothyroxine but the aim is a TSH of 1 or under. Your dose of levo needs to be increased.
Others who have hashi's will respond and say what helped them and I believe going gluten free helps reduce antibodies. Cursor down to hashimotos for info:-
Thyroid peroxidase antibodies are positive for autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) which causes 90% of hypothyroidism. 100% gluten-free diet may improve symptoms and reduce antibodies.
The goal of Levothyroxine is to restore the patient to euthyroid status. For most this will be when TSH is 1.0 or lower with FT4 in the upper range. Read Treatment Options in thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_... Email louise.warvill@thyroiduk.org.uk if you would like a copy of the Pulse article to show your GP or endo.
Hypothyroid patients are often low/deficient in vitamins and minerals which can cause hairloss and symptoms similar to hypothyroidism. Ask your GP to test ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate.
