I read that if you take gluten, within 90 mins your resting heart rate will increase by 16 bpm, if you are intolerant. So that's a quick check you can do today.

Gluten is said to interfere with thyroid, so I guess it would interfere with the T3 and absorption of it too. No doubt someone out there will correct me if I'm wrong. ;-)

Maybe. I read something ages ago but cannot remember what...I'd try and find time to check my books. I'm now on T3 only and it might explain why I feel awful when I eat wheat based products. Plus, I've got thrush again, the second time in one month!

Hello Chuck,

I wonder if your T3 is interfering with your consumption of wheat? I've had my first ever tablet of the new natural dessicated thyroid tablets from the USA today and I feel so much better. I found that whilst on the T3 my digestion was in turmoil and it got worse after I'd have a coffee and bread related products. I only have bread if I have a burger at McDonalds and I feel lousy every weekend when I take Billy-Joe to McDonalds. Also, I've noticed this if I've had a bun in Greggs when we go to visit a disabled friend.

Also, it doesn't mention on my Mercury Pharma T3 tablets that you've not to have caffeine with or near them. I was on the British National Formulary on Friday checking out some diabetes meds when I typed in T3 and it came up with all sorts of stuff. I had noticed that if I had a coffee an hour or so after my tablet I started getting heart palpitations. Perhaps it could be caffeine affecting your absorption, it's worth checking it out.

I'm going because it's late and I've got physiotherapy early tomorrow morning.

Night, night for now and I'll try and email you tomorrow night. I haven't got Billy-Joe tomorrow.

TT x
