Today, I tried to search for a message I had between myself and another.
On calling up messages it just gives a long list with no details of who you've messaged
It's only when you click on a message the names are displayed and it is really a nuisance if I've to do that each and every message till I find one I want.
Am I doing something wrong!

I see the name of the person text has been sent to or from and although there are no titles only around half a dozen messages are stored under that name. My Blackberry is ancient, newer phones are probably different.
That sounds slightly (very, very slightly) better than what we have on HU.
If a message sequence in my list of messages was last added to by me I can't see who the other person in the conversation is at all, and I find that incredibly annoying.
Why on earth would they want messages on a PC to look like messages on a smartphone? What is the point? Frankly, for once, I'm speechless at the imbecility of that... Although I sense there's a lot to be said!
Oh, me too! But, even if the site is accessed more by smartphones than by PCs, that is not a reason for making them all look alike. There's just no rhyme or reason to it. It's just silly. lol
No shaws you're doing nothing wrong. I noticed this change about a month ago. It is utterly stupid now. There is no longer a subject, just "Re:" and if your message was the last one written then you can't see who you are communicating with. I don't understand the logic of this new system and whoever thought it was a good idea needs shooting!
Totally agree! Plus, you cannot start a new conversation with anyone. The messages just keep adding on to the conversation before until it gets really rediculously long, and reading back to find something that someone said in the middle-ish of the conversation becomes a nightmare!
I think they are in the need of some thyroid hormones especially T3 as their brains aren't working for this site. I am flummoxed by whoever thought this up. Let's hope they can revert to how it was. We don't all have smart phones. We, who don't have mobiles need to have an expedient way of accessing messages. Not willy nilly - not knowing what changes are ahead.
i wrote to support about this about a month ago assuming it was a bug, i got this reply -
"In our new private messaging system users cannot add subjects when they have a conversation with another user. It is now in the form of a chat. However, the box “To” gives the opportunity to add multiple recipients. Whenever you try sending a message to two or more users, a “subject” box appears under the “to” box, and subject is a requirement in group messages.
The same users can see on Facebook, or any other social network. This was introduced because of the technical reasons.
"
i suggest everyone writes to let them know that we need a title box.
it seems to me that the ''bods'' at hu need to think about the actual users before they make any techno changes AND THE POSSIBLE EFFECTS that will/can happen ----TO THE USERS ---- before the change is actually made ......just the thoughts of a confirmed techno idiot [ and proud ] .......alan
there has been an improvement since this post, well done shaws and all who sent a message to support. i can now see the names of the people who i am messaging but in addition to this i would like to see a title box, this would help a lot when searching thru old messages.
update...i decided to write again to support to request addition of a title box and got this reply promptly - "Thank you for your feedback.
Many users requested this, so, most probably, we will introduce the subject field, but it might take some time to come up with the technical solution to this within the new system."
nice to have a responsive support team, now we just need dr's and endo's to learn the same lesson, lol.
Well I presume most of you regulars all know Isaid many times about my iPad/internet problems, which I'd put down to hacking originally. That's why I disappear for weeks on end! Couldn't get signed to TUK, Headway or HU because username or password 'not recognised'.
I then started contacting by email or phone Apple to describe problems, their own internet securitŷ on their products was supposed to be 2nd to none! However Apple updated their OS in March this year making both iPhones and iPads work on exactly the same IOS9 Operating Software.
However many of you probably have Samsung or other makes phones/tablets which use Microsoft Windows OS. The software used most by Website developers perhaps. . Apple have their own AppStore for App Developers who never updated their apps quicklŷ, causing problems between mobile and tablet users! Most PC users I assume do not buy Apple products Because of price! However all seem to use 'Cloud' now but only their own. I've been really reading properly the iPad user guide and it seems Apple cloud on one of their tablets will only work with an Apple PC with OSX or Mac OS.
Yes it's all complicated - I spent nearly as much time trying to sort out my wifi/internet/iPad problems as I have my health ones and to re-establish access to my Communities on HU!
Today I have 2 Welcome to TUK messages on MY messages under my account! Explain that, I can't!
