Pity replies had to be stopped to Dogus89 post.

It is a pity replies had to be stopped to Dogus89 post. I understand the reason why, to stop anyone breaking the rules and replying online, but it also stopped people, like me, who would have liked to add, please send me a private message too. I had been on Erfa for many years, then when it went to prescription only I had to change to NatureThroid, and we all know what happened there. So if anyone is aware of where Erfa can be obtained please private message me.

Lilian you are more likely to get a response by asking on your own post. Additional questions added to another person's post tend to get lost in the busy nature of this site.

If you regularly read the forum you will know that forum guidelines don’t allow naming or discussion of suppliers and posts requesting supplier information are always closed and members asked to reply by private message.

If you are seeking a supplier you should post your own request.

I did say in my post that I know the rules do not allow it and why.

In which case I don't understand why you've posted to say it's a pity Dogus' post was closed.

Because, as I said in my post:- it also stopped people, like me, who would have liked to add, please send me a private message too.

Which would result in a string of "me too" posts which we try to avoid.

Yes it would of course. I just thought it might be preferable to have me too's under one post than many separate posts asking the same thing.

No, leaving a post open for replies usually ends up with somebody posting supplier details regardless of us specifically asking members not to do this and also means that Admin have more work to do because we'd have to monitor the post to make sure no supplier details are posted. There is usually a very good reason for our guidelines and the things Admin do.

I understand and appreciate your explanation.

Usually but not always.

Lilian15, The admin team have found, over their many years of experience, that 'me toos' under the same post is not helpful to anyone. It's also extremely annoying for the OP to have frequent alerts and emails because their post is constantly resurrected by 'me toos'.

Me too. :-)

"Me too" replies are especially awkward when the first post and the "me too" replies are actually different. Even if the words used don't make that obvious.

For one example, when the members concerned are in different countries, with different laws, etc.

The location of the original poster is taken from their profile and included in the post. For each "me too" poster, we either look it up in their profile, or miss that their location is different.

If anyone wants to ask a question of a "me too" poster, it is very easy to confuse who is being asked the question. (Especially if it is posted on the original post rather than the reply.)

Yes, I can see now how confusing it must be. I just go around thinking everyone is from the UK, possibly because it is called Thyroid UK.
