Just when I think I'm thinking straight!! Haha ( well think I'm thinking straight!) I decide to reply to a couple of posts and some pms sent to me that I have just become aware of..( no notifications even though I have altered the email preferences...does everyone get the response you have sent to someone's PM , in your own in message box ? I've gone loopy? I even PMd those people to say have they received anything from me!

Think l will go back to brainless numpty! It's easy there! Thankyou Donna

Hi Donna

ummmm, bit confused about the question! ;)

Firstly - if you are not getting notifications, please try unticking and reticking - if this does not work, please report the problem to support@healthunlocked.com

Secondly - Private Messages are still private between the people involved in the conversation. If they have the box ticked, all people in the message should get an email saying that there has been activity on the message.

Hope this helps - if not, feel free to drop me an email - louise.warvill@thyroiduk.org

Yes, it seems that for some reason PMs sent OUT to somebody actually appear in your INBOX. I have e-mailed comment on this to Help as it is completely bewildering and counter-intuitive, like you I also thought my messages had somehow rebounded back to me like a boomerang. You are certainly not suffering from brainfog but the people who thought this was a good idea seem to be.

Evidently, I found after max frustration, you have not only to type in the name of the person to whom you are sending the message but also "select" that same username from a drop down list which appears when you have typed the username into the box. Why? Two actions to accomplish what one action formerly achieved! I think this new site has been designed for maximum user frustration, drives me mad when I think of how most things once were, so easy to use, even a low-tech person like me found it all so easy.

Thanks Louise for your reply .have tried your suggestions and will now wait and see....slowly loosing the will to keep up with HU...I haven't been that great ,and joining in is not always possible , on my bad days but when I do get a list of posts from my HU sites ( still variable time days and contents) I like to read and see what's going on.sometimes it's so much bother you just Don't! Which is not the right attitude..I think the flow of questions and blogs have changed a lot and the format...

Well what do you say ! Thank-you for sorting out all you can .

Best-wishes Donna x

Hi Donna

I am only in the last couple of days now getting emails and alerts from HU. I had already changed my email address previously so entered a different email address and it now works. I had tried ticking and unticking before that.

Hi shaws thanks for the suggestion I will tap in another email address I use and see where that gets me! I did get the notification that you had left a reply so something is looking up! X

Hello nostoneunturned

Thankyou for your reply to my question,,the problem far better explained than I was able too.! Maybe it's a cull of the dimwits or foggy brain deads by HU! I think I will continue to just read..it's less of a problem that way and HU don't have to keep tweaking their site.they will be left with a bunch of highly intelligent computer competent Sick people...and the rest of us daft ones will be observers of the site..maybe the government or NHS are shareholders!!! They will stop the sharing of information some how!,,

I am joking by the way!,

Thankyou x
