I found my bloodwork from 9-22-15, one month before starting Armour.

TSH = 0.78 (0.4-4.5 mIU/L); Free T4 = 1.3 (0.8-1.8 NG/DL); Thyroid Horm. (T3UP) Bind. Ratio = 29.1 (22.0-35.0)

LDG,

It is usual to lose weight when initially medicating T3 but it should stop as thyroid hormones level out.

Results above when you were medicating only T4 were fine ( although you were still symptomatic).

Results from march (previous post) 5 months after starting NDT show you are not over medicating on NDT, if anything you are still a little under, as your T3 is under half way through range.

TSH = 0.01 (0.4-4.5); Free T4 = 1.5 (0.8-1.8); Free T3 = 295 (210-440)

You should not suddenly stop medicating NDT as your body needs these vital hormones.

Perhaps your constant weight loss is due to something else.... diabetes ?

Thank you, I really appreciate your help but I was just desperate to stop losing weight. I don't know how clear I made it but I'm skin and bones and knew that couldn't continue.

I agree I need testing but it's just curious that I starting losing the weight as soon as I started the Armour and didn't stop until I stopped taking it. The other strange thing is that I feel great, I was really feeling horrible (depression, anxiety, irritability) especially the few weeks before I stopped the Armour. Between the extreme weight loss and the way I was feeling, I felt I just had to stop. I was frightened as to what was happening to my body. I don't know what my levels may has risen or lowered to over the period of time since March. Can't wait for new bloodwork.

Thanks again, I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

LDG,

If it is the Armour that has had this effect on your body, you could always reduce NDT and add some T4.

The ratio in NDT doesn't suit everybody as we are all individual.

Thank you so much for your advice. Since I stopped taking any thyroid meds I've stopped losing weight and actually feel better. My brain fog seems to have cleared and the horrible depression is gone. I feel better than I have in a long time. I'm just very hesitant to start taking my Armour again or any thyroid drug right now, I was feeling awful. I'm getting bloodwork done this week so hopefully that will help me to figure this out.

Thanks again for your help.
