Morning all

Am i right in thinking Blue Horizon will send you another kit if the sample you send isn't sufficient? Ive just spent 10 minutes, used all 3 lancets and still barely half filled the tiny container!

Thanks

Hi,

I was the same but it was enough. I really didn't want to do it again as my fingers were so sore. Not really looking forward to the next time!

The first time I did it I was a little short of the sample for one of the tests. I contacted them and they sent another free of charge. I made sure I did it early on waking, spent 3 mins with my hand in warm water, used the elastic band, shook my hand etc, regularly during squeezing too. Remember to wipe the first drop of blood away before squeezing and if it starts to slow do that again to prevent clotting. I think you get better with practice. The first time I sat down when I should have been standing. Good luck :-)

I was so excited to get the package yesterday and could have cried this morning. All i seem to have achieved is black and blue fingers :-(

Yes, BH helped me a lot when I had the same problem. By the time I'd tried to get enough blood out my fingers were so sore I really didn't want to try it again. They sent me to a local private hospital instead - at no extra cost. If you haven't done so already get in touch with them and ask. My experience with them is that they're really helpful with this kind of thing. :-)

I know what you mean, typing at work today hasn't been easy!!

I posted the sample off this morning and I believe they have a pretty quick turnaround so if they havent contacted me by Friday ill call them.

I would imagine its quite a common problem.

You are supposed to drink a lot of water the day before too.

I did yes, hopefully it will be ok, BH seem pretty good from what ive read here

We currently use the Baird Dickson Blue. They were consistently the best in trials we did and I have very sore fingers to prove it!

I know just what you mean, fingers are still sore today. My sample should arrive today so I'm hoping it will be ok.
