I am going to take the test suggested, but wondered if on hrt and t3 and b12 injections the test would come out ok... Is it common to have adrenal fatigue with thyroid issues?

Plus what's the best treatment for Adrenal Fatigue.... Thanks Jo 😊

scorpiojo Yes, adrenal fatigue is quite common alongside thyroid issues. I am hypo and have low adrenal reserve plus virtually non-existent sex hormones, they are all connected.

Dr Sarah Myhill has quite a bit of information on her website regarding adrenals

Treatment depends on what's going on, ie high or low cortisol and DHEA. You'd need the results of your test to know.

Thyroid meds and B12 would be taken as normal when doing the test. Not sure about HRT, sorry. You could ask Genova.

ETA - sorry, scrap that about asking Genova, all they will say is ask your practioner as they don't deal direct with the patient.

would it be worth doing the test if on hrt... I take gel estrogen and progesterone tabs... So far so good with night sweats 😊 looking at Swanson adrenal supplement?

Sorry scorpiojo I really don't know if HRT will affect the adrenal test. If you get no further comments about that question on this thread it may be an idea to make a new post purely to ask that question, it might catch the eye of someone who knows the answer.

I wouldn't get an adrenal supplement until you know what your problem is and what you need. If you read the first link I gave you then you will see how Dr Myhill treats different types of adrenal problems. Some supplements lower cortisol if it is high, if you have low cortisol you need something different to raise it, sometimes just identifying the stress that is making high cortisol and removing the stress is enough, you may need to address low DHEA, etc., you just don't know until you do a test.
