Lyme disease testing
Blood needs to be sent outside the UK for testing, PM me if you want details of who I used.
Member rosetrees has lots of information about Lyme Disease and testing.
You can read her posts and replies on her profile, or send her a private message :
Chrissy,
IgeneX, Infectolab, or Armon labs all test for Lyme.
I don't think there is a lab in the UK but don't have Lyme myself so others may have more details.
Unfortunately there isn't a reliable lab in the UK. You can use Igenex (who diagnosed me), Armin or MDL.
Do you remember having the bulls eye rash? If you did, that is generally considered diagnostic so testing may not be necessary.
The problem then is finding someone who understands Lyme to treat you. Many (including myself) consult practitioners in the States or mainland Europe.
There are some alternative therapists in the Uk who are starting to "get" it.
Hi rosetrees , was just wondering how on earth you decide which test to go for ? I had a negative iGg last year through my gp who told me they 'ruled out ' lymes. I now know that's not necessarily been ruled out and as I still continue to have symptoms think it's time to seek further tests privately . Any info gratefully received !

Hi Amanda
Are you a Facebook user? If so, I suggest you join the Lyme Disease UK group - facebook.com/groups/4812946...
The NHS test is almost always negative. Many people use Armin labs in Germany. I've been tested by Igenex and MDL, both in the States. Igenex was around 18 months ago and was positive. MDL was just a couple of months ago, when my practitioner tested me for co-infections. I consult Dr Jess Armine from Philadelphia. He is an alternative practitioner and doesn't use antibiotics.
Which tests you have is difficult decision. If you start with Lyme, that will obviously be cheaper.
Hope some of that helps.
