Get a blood test. It’s simple takes 5 mins.

You may, like me, have to provide your gp with why you think you my have contracted it.

According to them its highly unusual. Funny, the vet i spoke to said the opposite!

Many thanks and yes vets here are so much more clued up to this. I read that uk tests for Lyme are not reliable? Where do I go for tests?

Vets also treat hypo animals without asking them questions but going by symptoms alone :)

But they rely on the owner answering questions ! and they rely on test results.

The owner obviously knows their animal and can tell vet about their symptoms. We tell doctors our symptoms but they seem to know none. Also in the UK, they test TSH which has to reach 10 before diagnosising and not taking into account symptoms.

Is it wrong that I have actually considered asking the vet?! 😂 All in the name of acquiring more information you understand but they’re so much more sensible than doctors! 😂

Hi there.

The GP test is very limited in the spectrum of potential strains it can detect. Best option is to get your bloods to Armin Labs in Germany.

Please note that because Lyme has a huge detriment on your immune system that other pathogens and/or bacteria could be affecting your health. You can upgrade the Lyme test with Armin to include detection of anything else. You will need to prepared for the cost of finding/proving your infection with Lyme though.

My best advice is start an auto immune diet NOW!!! Don't waste time as this will improve you health and immune system before you can start to look at possible treatment by eliminating trigger foods that will feed your possible issues. This is my bible currently and is really helpful in regards structure to shop and plan your diet.

amazon.co.uk/gp/product/174...

I have enlisted a naturopathic expert in Lyme and auto immune issues to help with the supplementation and my journey to a better life with Lyme.

Hope this helps and if you need any more info or support please message me

Hi Matt,

Thank you so much for your advice and help. I must admit, planning meals is a real struggle, have just ordered the book you recommend so will try that. I am already going nowhere near gluten, wheat, sugar and diary. I know onions and tomatoes are off the menu too and some grains and beans! I have now heard of the lab in Germany to do the in-depth testing, and will look into this too. I am currently getting over another UTI infection and reactive arthritis in my foot! Just goes on and on!! I'm not good on antibiotics...really upsets the gut. Is this common for people with Lyme?

Regards

That’s great. The book is very good and after a quick flick through I’m sure you’ll be more confident in your food choices moving forward. I read all the chapters before the recipe and this wil give great insight into everything about this elimination diet. It’s also great to note that you can introduce potential trigger foods after a few months to get back to ‘normal’ whatever that is.

All my research in ABs is that they do not work for Lyme. A decent percentage of people regress after taking them even after 2 years of IV treatment. It’s not a route I have considered after all the research that I have done.

A note on your symptoms, yes what appears like arthritis can be a Lyme side effect. I have had all sort of physical side effects over the years that are similar so wise not to take any medication for these things unless you really need to. A lot of western mesicine cures for many of the misdiagnosed elements of Lyme are counterproductive to your health. Part of the auto immune protocol is to avoid all ASAIDS(pain killers)
