detox!!!:) start using C.B.D oil:) and start picking goose grass , cleavers or commonly known as sticky willies - that will remove all kinds of crap from your body and glands. Get that CRP rate down to 0! You got slight inflammation.  Increase your folate. Get some methyl folate - swansons brand are pretty good.  I would advise that you get yourself a damn good body detox before you start supplementing. Do that for a few months. You will lose a heck of an amount of weight! plus anything underlying that's clogging up your organs will go away too. your bowels everything will improve. Your heart function will improve...then you might end up like me - being weaned off the medications!:)

Your TSH is a bit high - that will always fluctuate. Get your pituitary gland a wee check up if you have not done so. I am not sure if you have  reduced meds or what... Also get a ana test to check for underlying diseases like hashimotos for example.

chaga chaga mushrooms are good for killing off autoimmune disease conditions and boosting the immune system - keep taking this stuff every day for a year and see what happens:) its also good for inflammation:)

find a good chinese herbal doctor - pm me for contacts:)

Your TSH says hypo - although a lot of doctors won't recognise it as such until it gets to 10! But, at two, your gland is starting to struggle, and anything over three is hypo - in the real world, but not in the NHS!

Your FT4 is a bit low, but then it is converting very well, due to your high TSH, probably, because your FT3 is quite good.

Well, that's my interpretation, anyway.

Your B12 and folate could be higher. We're now told that 1000 is optimal for B12. And your folate is low. You could supplement the B12 with 1000 mcg sublingual methylcobalamin daily, plus a B complex with methylfolate, rather than folic acid, to bring your folate up. :)

The range where I live is 0.5-5 but she just kept saying Levo is so dangerous it can give you blood clots and heart attacks, you body will adjust to your symptoms a light anti depressant will regulate your sleeping and pacing will help you slowly get out of this rut, it's a slow process. And all your other tests previously have came back within range. The thing that's putting me off self medicating is my t4 & t3 ranges they aren't the worst.

They aren't the best, either! Your TSH isn't that high for nothing. Something is not right. And it doesn't matter what the range is where you live, with TSH, normal is normal, and this isn't!

A 'normal' person, with no thyroid problems, has a TSH between 0.85 and 1.25. And, as I explained above, a TSH of 2 means that your gland is starting to struggle.

As far as anybody knows, the TSH serves two purposes. It stimulates the gland to produce hormone, and stimulates the conversion process of T4 into T3. It's doing it's job. You are producing a certain amount of T4 and it's being converted. But you shouldn't need that much TSH to produce that much T4/T3. If your gland were working well, the TSH would be lower.

As to self-treating, there's nothing wrong with just trying it. If your doctor weren't such an ignorant moron, she would have offered you a trial of Levo, just to see - however, on her present record, she would have given you too small a dose and made you worse! I have heard some stupid things come out of the mouths of so-called educated doctors, but that has to be the worst! Your body will adapt to your symptoms! What utter bull***t! It shouldn't have to adapt to your symptoms. You shouldn't have symptoms! She must be either very stupid, or a total sadist.

But, I digress! The thing about trialing Levo is that you can always stop it if it doesn't agree with you - i.e. you Don't need it - with no harm done. You'll know if you Don't need it, you'll be climbing the walls!

However, Don't make the mistake so many doctors make by starting on too low a dose. If you're going to try Levo, start on 50 and get tested/increase in six weeks time. If NDT, start on half a grain and increase by half a grain after two weeks. Monitor your body closely. But Don't expect  miracles! It isn't like taking aspirin, you Don't get instant relief. It takes time to build up.

If you have any doubts or questions, or just want a hand to hold, we're all here for you. Drop in any time. :) But Don't let your doctor ruin your life with her stupidity, Don't go on suffering when help is at hand. Take charge of your own health. Sometimes, we have to put on our big girl knickers, and do what has to be done! xxx

Crazycatlady,

I'd change your GP - she's talking out of her fundament.  Your body won't adjust to lack of hormone and Levothyroxine doesn't cause blood clots and heart attacks.  You're more likely to develop heart problems with untreated hypothyroidism.
