Hi everyone. Saw an endo on Thursday. Unfortunately not the one I had requested as now retiring. He looked at latest test results saying have suppressed TSH, low FT4 and normal T3. Questioned my present medication of 62.5 Levo and 15 Liothyronine daily. Believes too much for me, in fact questions if I need medication at all!! Looked back to when first diagnosed with hypothyroidism with TSH of 7. 23. Says believes result between 5 and 10 is a "grey area" , that gps should not just prescribe if over 5. He wonders if I should try a two month period without any meds, see how I go.
I admit have not seen any improvement in symptoms over the years no matter what dosage on. Did see some improvement when first prescribed t3 but now feel constantly anxious , as though pedal on the accelerator all the time plus having chest pain which is also being investigated together with weight loss.
Will post latest results as photos and would do appreciate any advice . Take care all.

Blackcap, don't let him experiment on you like a labrat - a TSH of 7.23 needed treating, have no doubt about that. Coming off would almost certainly make you feel ill. The reason you haven't felt much improvement is because I think you need a dose raise to get your FT3 nearer the top of the range. Had you taken your thyroid meds on the day of the blood test?
No , following advice from this site did not take meds before bloods being taken. It's a minefield isn't it? My own gp concerned re the results also , he thinks over medicated which could possibly be contributing towards weight loss and chest pains although has also arranged for me to have an endoscopy on Monday because of these symptoms.
I have adrenal and mitochondrial issues which not helping. Just so fed up with feeling ill each and every day.
Was surprised by his suggestion though, seemed odd to suggest just by the reading when diagnosed without any clinical picture!
Endo presumably thinks you are over medicated because TSH is below range. Were your thyroid antibodies ever tested? Having TSH >5.0 with positive antibodies is good reason to replace thyroid hormone without waiting until the patient is overtly hypothyroid with TSH >10. Read Dr. Toft's comments in thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_...
I think you shouldn't worry about low TSH and I think you are under medicated because FT4 is low in range. Read Dr. Toft's comments in Treatment Options of the link above.
PA Society recommend B12 should be around 1,000. Supplement 1,000mcg methylcobalamin and take a B Complex vitamin.

Awaiting results of vit D test. I do take various supplements to help mitochondria but not vit d at present or B12. Thanks for the link Clutter, will take a look.
