To be honest honest I feel good I've got energy,I'm also wide awake now we're I'm lying in bed watching the clock till 4 or 5ish in morning oh well mustn't moan now.
The doctor as now put me on antidepressants (citalopram 20mg daily) started 2 day 12th March.he as also stopped gabbapentin and transdermal patch 20 microgram,oh sorry that was me telling doctor to stop and try somthink stronger as I have been diagnosed as having fibo somthink as I suffer pain 24/7 all over body.
The gabbapentin and patch I'm been weaned of over a 4 week period which is unbearable most times, the things we have to do to get better medication.

For what reason did your doctor prescribe anti-depressants? Anti-depressants interfere with the uptake of levothyroxine. Did she not check your Free T3 level. T3 is the actual active hormone which is required in all of our receptor cells. Insomnia is a clinical symptom and when you are on an optimum of hormones and the addition of T3 to levo you might feel much better. T3 is also used by some psychiatrists for depressed patients who aren't hypothyroid.
Are you/were you depressed or did you have insomnia as well as other thyroid clinical symptoms?
You say your doctor now says you have fibromyalgia due to widespread pain? In the following link at the top of the page are other topics which will give you good information but links within the topics might not work as Dr Lowe has died.
Sorry about the wait shaws.for over 16 mths or more I've been really depressed.over the past few months I'm been having really bad mood swings and wanting to kill somebody.getting really angry and aggressive with people.giving up on life every day the same, not wanting to do or go any where..feeling trapped like stuck in a hole unable to get out and so on.
Ps I forgot to say I lost nealy 2stone in weight it was my niece what told me..... I'm also so absent minded it scares me lol.
As far as I know doctor never asked or checked about free t3 level.
I am still on levothyroxine 125 micrograms as first diagnosed in May 2015.
Sorry that's all I have from printout from doctor (basic thyroid test)
Hello galathea and thanks for ur reply as far as I'm aware t3 Asn't been checked.
For over a year or more I AV been depressed and in denial.the past 2or 3 moths I've been wanting to kill sombody I feel like a jeckle&hyde rely bad mood swings unable to sleep until 4 or 5ish in morning.ive lost nearly 2stone in weight not that I'm moaning.....I've gone from being shattered, nackered tired sleeping a lot to not sleeping at all.Its a if iv'e gone the reverse.
I am sorry your emotions have been all over the place but that can be due to being underdosed or not on the correct hormones for you.
Make an appointment for a new blood test. It should be the earliest possible and don't eat before it but you can drink water. Leave about 24 hours between your last dose of levo and the blood test and take it afterwards. Get a print-out and post the results with the ranges.
It's not uncommon to be diagnosed as 'depressed' but psychiatrists can give T3 to their unwell patients but 'depression in hypo' can be due to our T3 being too low. T3 is the active hormone needed in all our receptor cells and levothyroxine might be too low to convert to sufficient T3 and GPs have been told only levothyroxine has to be prescribed, so it is a 'no win' situation.
If you can, as Galathea suggests, get your own Free T3 blood test if GP wont do so, and that will show exactly where your T3 is. T4 is no use unless it is at a dose which converts to sufficient T3. If the dose is too low we get symptoms which are supposed to be relieved.
If i was you, i would get my free t3 tested.... A full profile of t3, t4, tsh and antibodies is around £90 and you deal direct with the lab.....
I would throw in an adrenal saliva test too for £75. If the adrenals are propping you up, it can feel pretty crap.... Tired and wired is the best description.
I just like to say a big thank you to all those who have give me more input.
I do feel better having energy and not been tired 24/7.
I won't be able to AV another blood test as I only had one for thyroid last week,I suppose I cud ask.
I do feel as if I'm been pushed over the edge and I'm unable to do any think about it.one second I can feel ok then just turn into a jeckle&hide.I feel as if I can killing somebody.im not like that usually laid back.
