Are you taking thyroid medication? Do you have symptoms of hypothyroidism? Are you in the UK?

Hi eeng

Yes, I take Tirocint 125 every day. I went through complete removal of thyroid one year ago. For the first time I was doing pretty fine for the last two months but blood results came as stated in my previous post, Tsh went up from 3,190 to 8,620. Yes, I do have symptoms of hypo such as bloating, my bones ache, can't wake up in the morning, i' m having weird dreams, can't concentrate and it goes on....

I don't live in England, I live in Greece.

Thank you!

Tyrocint is a brand of Levothyroxine. 125mcg is on the low side for someone with no thyroid at all. You definitely need to take more. Your TSH needs to be around 1 for you to fell well. I still have a thyroid but I take 175mcg a day to feel good.

I don't know about the parathormone result, but this website:

nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/enc...

says it could be because your Vitamin D is low. Low Vitamins (particularly D, B12 and Ferritin) are very common in people with thyroid problems, and since you have had some severe thyroid problems which led to a thyroidectomy, you need to get these checked and supplement if you have a deficiency. If you have low Vitamin D (which can cause aching bones) then you need to supplement with high dose supplements, not the ones you get in the supermarket.

Dear eeng

Thanks a lot for your answer.

Tomorrow is my appointment with my new endo, at last!

I hope she helps me and I'll definitely take what you're saying into consideration...

The truth is that I have already been prescribed Calcioral D3 but still parathormone levels are not the right ones.

Hope things get better not only for me but for everyone sharing same troubles!

Take care
