Yes greygoose, my t4 I meant to write, range t3 3.1_6.8
Yes I heard 500_1000 b12 is optimol, but worried my folate is over range so stopped my berocca pills now.
Wouldn't be surprised I wasn't fully converting, hence the t3 pills I'm buying to fix that hopefully.
I need to get my cholesterol checked me thinks with high c reactive protein score, a marker of inflammation and strokes, heart attack risk, and mine are elevated.
Yes, I would agree, you aren't converting very well, so the T3 should do you good. Your FT3 is only just mid-range, which is too low for most people.
You Don't want to be taking Berocca pills, not enough B12 in them to help. You need to be taking at least 5000 mcg sublingual methylcobalamin daily for a few months, to bring it up. Then, 1000 daily to keep it up.
Don't worry about your cholesterol. It will probably be high at the moment, as your FT3 is a bit low. But it will go down as your T3 comes up. Besides, cholesterol has nothing to do with heart attacks. That's just scare tactics to make us all take statins! Which we really Don't want to take! Just forget about cholesterol and concentrate on your T3.
Hi grey goose what about my over range folate, surely if I keep taking high b12 my folate will go ever higher (overdose). I also did my ACTIVE B 12 test last week as it was on offer, that was 105* range was 20-145. So don't think I'm deficient in b12 or am I still considered low? As active is what's in he cells.
Taking B12 won't make your folate rise, they're two different vitamins.
I'm afraid I know nothing about the active B12 test. If you have doubts about it, you'd best go over to the Pernicious Anemia site on HU and ask them - I'd be interested to hear what they have to say about it.
Hey, greygoose, what should my t3 level be ideally, is it 5.5 or 6? The range goes up to 6.8.
I find it all so puzzling and just want my health back. I'm on want antibiotics again from cold and having flu jab, this year Ive had so many colds about 10 so far and had several weeks off work.
There's no fixed 'ideal' level of T3 because we all need different things. You can only talk about the 'ideal' level for you. That might be 5.5 or it might be 6.8, or even slightly over-range. You need what you need.
Not a good idea to take antibiotics for a cold. Antiboitics do nothing for viruses, so you're taking a potentially problematic drug for nothing.
As you have Hashi's, flu jabs really aren't recommended. They can make your immune system worse, not better. Your immune system is already compromised because you have Hashi's.
If you keep getting colds, I would look for nutritional deficiencies, if I were you. You've had your B12 and folate tested, but what about your vit D? That could well be low, and low vit D will cause problems.
Do you take vit C? Try taking about 1000 before bed and another 1000 when you take your Levo. See if that helps.
Of course you just want your health back. So do we all! That's why we have to learn as much as we possibly can to protect ourselves from doctors, who know nothing!
...am assuming that measurement was pmol/L in which case your VitD is LOW Take a look at the link below. Please note the measurements used are ng/L as it is from the US - so you have to divide your result by 2.5 which equals 30 - so a way to go for an optimal result of 60. You need to be taking at least the equivalent dose of 2500 IU's daily....
Try steam inhalations or a Neti-Pot. Anti-biotics destroy the GOOD bacteria in the gut which is one of the causes of so much sickness in the world.
The gut microbiome - contains over 4 lbs of bacteria which can communicate with each other. When we destroy the good bacteria we are left with the bad bacteria and the subsequent conditions. Try taking a pro-biotic to balance out the effects of an anti-biotic. Natural yogurt goes part of the way to supporting the gut too.....
