Your T4 is in your boots not surprising as you're taking T3 only but also suggesting that you can or would covert T4.

Your TSH isn't super low but is low

Your T3 depends what time your blood was taken and whether you'd taken any T3 before the rest. What are your symptoms? Do you have enough vutaimin D3 Ferritin Folate etc ? You could try a tint bit more T3 for a week and carefully monitor or you could try asking for other tests to see if you need more supplements it's not all about TSH.

Good luck

Redditch, could you please explain how and why these results indicate that she 'can or would covert T4'?

If not supplementing with NDT or levo a reduced T 4 means you've used it. It's not low enough to mean she's not producong. Therefore she's converting.

But she's taking 83 mcg T3. Therefore her body won't hang on to the storage hormone (T4) because it doesn't need it.

If you still have symptoms why not gradually try increasing your T3 and see if they disappear? If you take T3 you have to dose it by signs and symptoms and basically ignore blood test results. Most people who have to take T3 only will be fully well when blood tests show a very low TSH, low fT4 and a fT3 which may be over the top of the reference range. Not many endos realise this and can get concerned over a supressed TSH. I totally ignore blood tests and don't have them done anymore as they are just not helpful if you are on T3 only and I dose according to signs and symptoms and take the minimum amount of T3 dose that keeps me fully well.

Well your labs look perfect for someone on T3 only.

What symptoms?

What are your ferritin, D and B12 like?

How long have you been on the T3?

Blood tests don't tell the whole story and you should be free of symptoms if on an optimum dose of T3. Do you take your dose once daily or split?

As suggested above, have you had upto-date vitamins/minerals checked.

Hi the blood tests are a guide and only a guide, your symptoms are what counts. I'm not sure what sort of symptoms you have? What is your pulse before rising in the morning?

The TSH range, in my doctors opinion, is way out. He has stated that a TSH over 2 will eventually lead to heart problems, however, I see yours is well below that. (I have documentation if you need it)

I wonder if you have had your adrenals tested and also your ferritin levels?

Are you under a doctor or are you self medicating?

Take care

WADWM,

Your results look OK for someone medicating solely on T3 but your dose sounds a lot to me. ( however I medicate on a combo so am not experienced in T3 alone doses.)

If meds aren't working for you (& haven't been for some time) have you considered other factors.? ..

Your symptoms (which you don't state) .. I assume are caused by unbalanced thyroid hormones. High/low cortisol can be caused by unbalanced thyroid hormones and can interfere by decreasing TSH, lowering thyroid production, inhibiting T4-T3 conversion & increasing T4-RT3 conversion.

It can also indirectly effect blood sugar levels. Are you hypoglycaemic?

Also less than optimal levels of nutrients and iron may cause malabsorption issues (see your other post) as will gut dybolsis. Do you have IBS or other?

You have Hashimotos and an unmanaged high antibody count can cause inflammation in the body resulting in fatigue, puffiness, muscle or joint pain, abdominal discomfort, difficulty in concentration and brain fog. It can also interfere with thyroid meds working.

Hi Flower and Whine I hope, this video was unavailable for a long time regarding cortisol, infection and cytokines which cause inflammation. Dr. Clark has had a series of videos I have posted over and over again but this one I've never been able to post.

Hi Heloise,

Great video, I will watch the previous ones. He seems so ordinary and relaxed. Bet his adrenals are in tip - top condition.

Hope you are well

Oh glad you enjoyed it, Jose. I think he's great....it's functional medicine which I think possibly chiropractors do know more about.

I've been looking into these stealth infections (thanks to epictates) which don't have a cell wall and antibiotics are not effective against. Alternative medicine may have some methods to use. They reside mostly in the gut or the nasal cavities. I hope a more scientific mind would look into this. Many autoimmune diseases may be the fallout of these infections.

Never liked antibiotics myself and rarely use them. For too many years they were the "cure all". I was thinking of trying liqourice tincture - instead of triple treatment for Helicobacter .

Any thoughts x

Jose,

Liquorice is excellent as has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiulcer, antifungal, and antithrombotic properties.

I think you need to use it with theraputic doses of Curcumin (not turmeric) as this has anti-adhesive properties so stops the bugs from attaching to stomach lining.

I haven't had H.P. so don't speak from experience... just what I have read.

I do supplement Curcumin though for its anti-inflammatory properties trying to reduce TPOAb.

1st class Flower, that's great info. Can I ask, can you buy them already mixed and where would you advise me to purchase.

I really appreciate your opinion.

pffff mind boggling stuff here. lol - you should all be doctors Last time I checked my cortisol it was well above normal range and my vitamin d level was 127 and that was low. I felt myself becoming even more exhausted, worn out, mood swings, etc.

I was rushed to hospital with symptoms of diahrea, blurred vision, severe agitation, feeling ready to explode at the same time collapse and very giddy - rather odd...

I also have bipolar but dont know if this has something to do with it or not?

quora.com/How-does-marijuan... think i will take some green, some rhodiola and some ashwaghanda and just balance it all out!
