specialist prescribing dessicated thyroid in London

Hi Everyone

Help my GP has just reduced my Thyroxine from 100mcg to 75mcg as he thinks my TSH is too low. I have Hashimotos and in the past have found that my T3 levels are too low. I'm looking for a private Endocrinologist to test T3 levels and to predcribe dessicated thyroid. (someone who doesn't charge an arm and a leg woud be good)

Best of luck to everyone of this site. Caro xxx

Welcome to the forum, Caroxxx.

You can order your own thyroid blood tests from Blue Horizon and Genova via thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

Email louise.warvill@thyroiduk.org.uk for a list of member recommended endocrinologists. You should check with their offices that they prescribe NDT before confirming booking.

It is so wrong that doctors adjust levothyroxine only upon the TSH result and ignores the patients symptoms.

Yes and I feel that my Hashimotos has not been addressed by the NHS : (

Carolxxx, Hashimoto's isn't treated. NHS treats the resulting hypothyroidism with Levothyroxine.
