Hi Im very very new, not sure if I should be at a certain place for a certain thread but sure I will be directed if I have gone wrong:
I have been taking dessicated thyroid for 10 years now self medicating with great results, as we all know in the UK how the doctors feel about this stuff, however, my online pharmacy has been out of stock for weeks now and Im getting very low, Im wondering if anyone else buys NDT and could help with somewhere else to get it.
Thanks In advance
Michele

There are currently shortages of NatureThroid, WP and Erfa. If you can't get your preferred brand from your online pharmacy you might try Armour or Acella NP until the others become available again. Thai NDT is also available so think about using Thyroid-S or Thiroyd.
thank you, not actually heard of Acella NP, will check it out, had Armour way back in the beginning but when they changed it I preferred Nature throid. thanks again
Welcome to our forum MichaB and it is helpful if you complete your Profile of your thyroid history and members will need some background before they give you information if they know how to source thyroid hormones without a prescription.
You have only given your name.
i.e. when were your diagnosed: with what: what you are taking at present and dose.
I was in a hurry to try and find meds as mine were running low and pressed the do profile laer button, Im taking nature throid, thought I had said that, have been for 10 years from the same place with no prescription, recommended by an endo at our hospital will fill in my profile a bit later, would actually like to take wp thyroid, hopefully my place will get stock again very soon
I have read that when we introduce NDT instead of levo, we start on a dose roughly to what we were taking of levo. Take Pulse and temp before beginning and then increase by 1/4 tablet every two weeks until your symptoms resolve. I cross fingers that the new one will suit you. (I am assuming you are starting on 1 grain.)
So you are an 'old hand' and it is disappointing that you couldn't source Nature Throid. I think there must have been a shortage of T3 as there seemed to have been quite a few problems either sourcing T3 or getting NDTs.
Me too, I freaked out when trying to order and everywhere I usually order had no WP or Nature throid, but it led me here which is a great place, Im finding with the acella I have had to up my dose a little, but I have never strayed from one NDT to another so its a tad new for me right now ........getting bloods done tomorrow, but here in the UK its the very low TSH that freaks our doctors out, but Im trying to find out the other results really that hes asked for, literally given up trying to ask for antibodies to be tested, no point he says? thanks so much for you r reply's
The lower a TSH is usually improves the patient. I think because Endocrinologists aren't scientists that they have swallowed all the promotion about levo and blood tests without understanding what actually happens in people's bodies.
We usually feel best when TSH is 1 or lower with FT4 and FT3 in the upper part of the range.
How much has Big Pharma gained through blood tests alone? Not including myself in that as no blood tests were taken at all but I was given other diagnosis with treatments for things I didn't have.
Before tests and levo we were all diagnosed upon clinical symptoms and given NDT on a trial. If we improved we were hypo and continued.
exactly right!! I struggle here with the doctors but once they give me the results they usually leave me alone for a while, I never take interest with the TSH mine is low which is good but they freak out, its the iron etc that I need right now, so I guess I use them a little for that, would be great to find an understanding doctor here in the uk, shame we have to treat and regulate ourselves really but Im a damn site better off for it! finding an understanding and knowledgeable doc would just take the edge of for me really, meaning a bit more support?
Hi I am looking for some help and found your forum when I was trying to research Thyroid S. I have hypothyroidism. I have been on levothyroxine for 10 years with never really feeling 100%. I now work for a Acupuncturist and after going over my bloodwork he recommended Thyroid S. I have been trying to go the all natural way at least as best I can. Has anyone here switched from Levothyroxine to Thyroid S and how did you feel and do you see better results. And where would be the best site to get in from. I don't want to get the wrong thing. Any information will be appreciated. Thank You
I have just seen your post of a month ago. I hope you have been given information but if we ask a question within someone else's post it can be missed which has happened to yours.
If you haven't already had a response. Put up a fresh post and ask for a Private Message to be sent to you. No information is permitted on the open forum of where to source prescription medications but you should get a response.
