Ibizababe, the symptoms can be due to low thyroid but also due to low B12. GP training closure is usually one afternoon a week. Ask for your results tomorrow. If only TSH was tested it may be worth ordering private thyroid tests.
I also have very painful hands and sometimes have to stay in my dressing gown as i can't pull up or lower my trousers. don't know if it is the sjogren's syndrome, Fiberamyaljer, low Thyroid or Raynars.
i also have stopped using normal toothpaste as it burns the inside of my mouth. I have a very bad memory at the moment and hurt all over. as well as immense pain in my back and foot; from falling down the stairs last year, i smashed my heel and ankle. my neck is still swollen and now gone hard; it starts at the front of my ears going down to my neck. I don't know if that should have gone after taking medication for low Thyroid Abouts 5 months now.
I too have painful hands and feet (and elbows and knees) which have eased quite a bit since I started taking vitamin supplements. There are some days that I can hardly move without the shooting pains and I am starting to keep a food/activity diary to see if particular foods are aggravating it. It's too early for me to tell yet.
Have you talked to your GP about the lump in your neck? It may be worth asking for a scan on your neck to check for goitre or nodules.
I like to have these things checked so that I have one less thing to worry about.
Thankyou LizzieMaybe, I thought i would not bother the doctor, as when i was phoned back from the doctor with my results from; blood test, i told her then, i also mentioned it to another doctor who quickly felt them. I had gone about another problem, so she said i should make a longer appointment next time as she had to go out. they both didn't seemed to bothered at the time. it has been over 2 months ago and i thought after medication they would go down. to be honest i have had so many test and appointment at the hospital; i was feeling bad about the amount of time i have already taken up with everything. but after reading your comment I shall definitely make an appointment next week. thankyou for taking the time to message me back X
I also have burning soles of feet which keep me awake at night I am under active n take 100mg of thyroxedine have asked doc several times for answers doesn't know the reason this is not just hot feet this is a serious burning sensation like I've walked on hot coals has anyone got an answer
The most likely cause is low vitamin B12, which goes with Hashimotos. Of course there could be other causes. Check out this article which also contains a good film: candobetter.net/node/4463 ("Incurable Alzheimers or curable B12 deficiency? An epidemic of wilful medical ignorance")
