I have just recieved my bottle of thyroid s the dose of each tablet is 60mg. Dr P told me to take 3 grains would that be 3 times 60mg tabs. Does anyone know the equivalents.

Yes, one 60mg tablet is approximately one grain. A grain is actually somewhere between 60mg and 65 mg, so some brands of NDT are sold in 60mg tablets and some brands are in 65mg tablets. But, for convenience, both are referred to as grains.

Mandyjane, 60mg is one grain which contains 38mcg T4 and 9mcg T3, roughly bioactively equivalent to 75mcg Levothyroxine.

How much Levothyroxine are you taking?

Thankyou clutter I was taking 300mg of thyrogold but needed to up my dose.

Mandyjane, 3 grains Thyroid-S has more T4+T3 than 300mg ThyroGold.
