Hi Dinjo. Yes, many users in the thyroid uk community have found Thryoid-S (by SPS Spirasit) reliable and have got on well with it. It doesn't work for everyone, but that seems to be the same regardless of NDT taken. Different makes seem to work better for different people. I've only just started on Thryoid-S myself. It was easy to source, and happy to say so far so good
Their tablets come in just the one size 60mg which is equivalent to 1 grain NDT, and contains approximately 38 mcg Levothyroxine (T4) and 9 mcg Liothyronine (T3)
So if it's NATURE THROID you're taking, then it would be the same dose for you with the Thyroid-S, i.e. 3 tablets per day which equals 3 grains.
Thanks Mike for this reply. I too take 3 tablets of Nature Throid and I am swtiching over as I cannot seem to get it any longer. I am starting it at the end of this week, so I pray it goes smooth. I have been on Nature Throid for over 2 years now and was doing good on it and now have to switch. Does anyone know if you chew these or just swallow them? They are grainy I see. I will keep you posted also on how the transition goes. Love to you all!!!! xoxoxoxoxoxo
It's great for me. Since taking I have a life back and almost feel normal! Also sorted vitamin deficiencies too though and gluten/Casein free for me with Hashimotos is a must.
I've been taking it for 15 years, and its been totally reliable. I keep my main supply in the freezer, and only take out what I need for the next couple of months.
As to strength, I believe its meant to be the same strength as Armour. However different people seem to react differently to the different brands, so its worth being a bit cautious and swapping gradually, then testing a month or two after the swap - and especially if you feel different to before.
Just's out of interest, have you found that Nature Throid is no longer working for you as well as it did, or is there another reason for wanting to change? I am also on Nature Throid.
Stiltzki i feel ok on Nature Thriod but i am experiencing very dry throat and general fatigue even doh i am at optimum dosage via blood test.
That including the price of Nature Thriod is scary high compared to Thriod-S, for mainly a financial reason i would like to try another NDT product and hopefully the dry Throat every morning goes away
Thanks, that's interesting. I do hope you find Thyroid S works for you. I also get throat problems (sore and dry) - but had them on Levo too - and am still fighting fatigue, but it is better than it was.
Same on both levo and Nature Thriod, every morning without fail I have severe dry throat, so always bring water to bed for the morning. I do not know if this is even related too Nature Thriod but I need to rule it out .
Wow the Nature Throid sounds mighty expensive. I purchased 1000 tablets (grains) of the Thyroid-S for about £90 (which includes international delivery).
No need to be suspicious, it is legit. I suspect some of the premium NDT manufacturers, especially in the States, are taking advantage of the lack of NDT competition in Western countries. And therefore charging as much as they can! Thank goodness, there are viable cheaper options out there.
Mike would you be so kind to message me where I can source the Thyrois-s I'm currently on WP but the price is increasingly unstastainable for me.thank you for sharing.x
I pay just over £120 for 200 x 1 grain and 100 x 1/2 grains of Nature Throid.
I can tell you about my experiences with the three brands of Thai NDT: Thyroid-S, Thiroyd, and TR.
At first, I was suspicious of Thyroid-S as it does contain a lot of fillers. So I tried Thiroyd first which has a lot less fillers.
Unfortunately, on Thiroyd, I felt my energy levels going constantly up and down. I know many people do great on it, but it just wasn't for me. I know multi dosing is an option, and would undoubtedly have been better, but it's not a very convenient solution for me.
I did not take TR long enough to give an accurate account. It's also the newest Thai NDT so there are not many reviews on it. I then went on Thyroid-S (mainly because of the glowing reviews online) and it was like "wow! So this is how it's supposed to feel!" I have energy throughout the day, but no ups and downs...it's more like a steady, smooth delivery of energy. Very subtle. I take it once a day, in the morning, an hour before breakfast. I then feel fine until it's time to go to bed.
Thyroid-S is said to contain a slow-release substance called Eudragit. I don't know if that is what makes a difference between it and other brands of NDT, or if it's all about multi dosing vs taking it once daily. However, as it's so much more convenient for me to take it once a day, I'm always happy when I find a brand that can be taken like that, without energy levels constantly rising and falling throughout the day.
Thanks for that, what kind of dosage are you on ? Do you not split up your dosage ? I heard it was best to take let's say 1.5 grains in the morning, and 1.5 grains in the later afternoon, could be totally wrong
I'm having problems in sourcing ThiyroidS could someone PM me with a reliable, safe, and easy to access source. Many thanks.
I've been on and off Thyroid-S since 2015. In between, I've tried every brand of Thai NDT available OTC, after trying Armour and Erfa with spotty success; Thyroid-S works the best for me. I am not too crazy about all the fillers, but neither Thiroyd nor TR worked nearly as well for me, despite the former containing hardly any fillers at all and the latter being gluten and lactose free...I honestly don't know how a drug containing as many fillers as Thyroid-S can work as well as it does, but the proof is there...it does, for some reason! I take 3 grains daily which seems to be my "sweet spot". When I take 3 gr daily, I feel well, have no hyper or hypo symptoms, and just feel normal...something I did not manage to achieve on either Thiroyd or TR, not to mention Armour or Erfa...! Hope this helps.
