Hi new doctor, more bloods done but still a refusal to speak about Hashi's even tho i have unexplained joint pain in one hand and knee. Had xray and steroid jabs no joy, no arthrirtus but i have a tpo of 600 so i thought i would raise the question seeing as i am hypo. New bloods:

Folate 7.9 ng/ml ( 4.5-32.2 )

Iron Level 18.3 umol/L ( 11-28 )

Transferrin 2.74 g/L (2-3.6 )

Transferrin Saturation 29% ( 15-50 )

Ferritin 117 ng/ml no range given

Magnesium 0.83 mmol/L (0.7-1.0)

Cortisol 452 nmol/L (155-605)

TSH 1.04 miu/L ( 0.27-4.2)

FT4 21 pmol/L (12-20 )

FT3 Refused by lab

B12 As tested Sept 14 429 pg/ml (191-663)

I have been given an extra 25 Levo , so now on 150 to try and push tsh a little lower.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Clubby, TPO 600 means you are positive for autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's). Your GP may know it as thyroiditis or chronic thyroiditis.

TSH 1.04 is in the area most people are comfortable with but some do need it lower or suppressed to feel well. FT4 21 is slightly over range but 25mcg dose increase could send it slightly too high for comfort. You can order FT3 privately from Blue Horizon and Genova via thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

Ferritin >70-90 is generally acceptable with halfway through range being optimal.

Folate could be a little higher. Supplement a B Complex vitamin.
