cold sores on lips
Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex (I think) virus. Most hypo people have poor immunity so are more prone to infections and viruses. Once you have the virus, you have it for life but generally it stays dormant unless triggered by stress or something else. Taking T3 shouldn't be as stressful for the body as taking T4, but ... Make sure you are getting pleinty of foods containing L'Lysine (eg red meat, dairy products, veg) and not so many containing L'Arginine (eg turkey, soy, peas, peanuts etc).
Rollrider, Since taking T3 I get fewer cold sores. VitC boosts your immune system so try 1-2,000mg vitC daily.
Snap! I haven't had cold sores since starting AIP last November. I started taking T3 on Friday and now have a cold sore developing on my lip, looks like a biggy too.
