Hi,

I posted earlier this year to let you all know not to give up on your wellness journey. I have seen my specialist again and they were amazed at how well I was doing. I'm now on 75mg of T4 and still 20mg of T3 as 100mg T4 was too high. But the best thing is I have lost loads of weight! I agree with the specialist that it isn't just the T3 although it helps. But the combination of three things. 1 you've heard it many times before but sleep plays a big role in feeling well. I used to go to bed at midnight or later, now I'm in bed by 10pm most nights. If I go later I feel tired and achey the next day. The second thing is your diet. I have been doing Kick Start Fat Loss, it's run online by Rachel Holmes and you'll find several franchises around the country. My mentor was Helen Pybus, she has helped me so much.On day 3 I was close to giving in but she talked me round. I am now 2lb away from a 3 stone weight loss. I am amazed. I thought I'd never be able to lose weight again. The key to this diet is eating good quality home cooked meals, cutting out sugar and gluten. It's the best I've felt in years. When you first cut the sugar out you do feel awful for a couple of days but when you get past that you feel amazing. Sugar is hidden in so many foods. Low fat yogurts contain up to 12g of sugar! Your liver is your fat burning organ, it will burn fat all the time if you cut out sugar and toxins that are in most ready meals etc. if you eat sugar and other chemically treated foods you liver then has to get rid of the toxins first so all fat burning is stopped and your body stores the fat making you put on weight. This is how kick start is so efficient. You're eating good fats like coconut oil etc so you are fat burning most of the time. My specialist recommended a paleo/ low gi diet and this is more or less that type of diet. An obviously the third thing is T3. But even if you can't get T3 don't give up. Just doing the other 2 things you will feel the benefit. I also take iron, d3, sellinium ( fab for your immune system I've avoided all the bug so far this year) omega 3 ,evening primrose oil and a multi vitamin. But don't give up, if you email thyroid uk you can get a list of specialist. My friend had found a good one in Ipswich on the NHS so push for a referral and never give up. You will get there. Xx
