Looking for an endo in North West

I have an appointment with my GP on Friday and am going to ask for a referral to an endocrinologist.

Bit of background may be helpful: Have been on levo just over 18 months (Hashimoto's) and although I have seen some improvement still struggling. A couple of weeks ago got back the results of the D102 test which shows that I have inherited the faulty gene from both parents, so although serum levels may appear OK, conversion of T4 to T3 at cellular level significantly impaired.

I want to work with an endo who is willing to experiment with T4/T3 combo....T3 ....NDT (dream on!)

If anyone has any recommendations (or otherwise) please could you PM me. I live just outside Chorley, but don't mind travelling. Have noticed some positive reviews for a Dr Tara Kierney (endo practising in Salford). However, her specialism seems to be pituitary disorders rather than specifically thyroid.

I think it will be interesting to see how the D102 test results are viewed.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Endo recommendations via private messages please in line with posting guideline #24, thank you, Clutter.

I saw Professor David Bowen-Jones who works in both NHS (Wirral University Hospital Trust) and privately (Spire Murrayfield) on Wirral. I had an over active thyroid and Graves; he was excellent and I would recommend him.

Hope all goes well for you whoever you see :)
