i am hoping someone might help me understand my results? really fed up and confused.... my gp reception printed out my last 5 results:

lab reference range - serum t4 12-22 serum tsh 0.3-4.2

serum t4 serum tsh

1. 16.4 0.82

2. 25.4 0.75

3. 22.5 0.40,

4. 17.0 1.07

5. 15.4 0.45

The only other blood result there is an issue with but has been for years is ferritin being very low.

Clarity on the above results would be much appreciated.

Hi I tried to move over your TSH results but it wouldn't let me do it although they look perfect on the edit page. They results look fine but the main question is 'how do you feel'. I note there is no T3 which they don't test for if the TSH is o.k. if you can afford a private T3 test I would get one as you could be quite low and it is the active hormone required in our cells.

Did you get these tests done before you took your medication and as early as possible?

thank u for replying shaws :) sorry the results have been squidged together.

To be honest i have felt terrible since last year. I do have other diagnosis' such as primary immune deficiency for which i receive igg every 3weeks. My t3has never been tested and my gp has never really explained why there was an increase in my t4.... is this normal or what reasons could there be?

Emtd, Has your dose been changed after you've had thyroid blood tests? Your TSH is generally in the right area just above or below 1.0 but your FT4 has fluctuated quite a bit. Currently a little low, I think.

Low ferritin can affect absorption of Levothyroxine. You should take each iron tablet with 500mg-1,000mg of vitamin C to aid absorption. Make sure you take Levothyroxine 4 hours away from iron.

Emtd, I assumed you were on medication. Have you had thyroid antibodies tested?
