I have been diagnosed with Hashimoto's. I am currently on 105mg (1 3/4 grain) of NDT going up 15mg (1/4 grain) every 3 weeks to a month. When we raise the dosage I feel better for a couple of weeks, but then it seems as if my body gets used to it and I start having some of the symptoms again, but not as bad as they were previously. I feel as if we will never reach optimum levels (two steps forward/one step back). I am also on DHEA, Vitamin D, B12 and Iron and those levels are at the high end of the scale. Has anyone else experienced this?

Asmile4u, you're not yet on enough NDT. Continue increasing 1/4 grain when you plateau and your symptoms return. You're not taking steps back at all. Your body responds well to the increased dose, adjusts and tells you when more is needed.
Thanks Clutter. I guess I am just impatient.
And why wouldn't you be? You could increase by 1/2 grain. If you feel over medicated go back to the previous dose for a couple of days before increasing by 1/4 grain.
My doctor said that it might take a while. She would rather go slow, so I don't have a reaction to it. I had tried NDT before and it was not a good experience. My doctor thinks it is because I went to high too quickly. Sigh! I just want to be well right now.
