You are incredibly HYPO. Your TSH needs to be below 1, ideally 0.3 - 0.5 and your T4 needs to be at about 18 or so. You need a free T3 test. I'm assuming they've given you thyroid hormone? Is so you need a dose increase. DO NOT let them take the other half!!!

Thanks Girl Scout. I feel really well at the moment so I'm not looking to take any thyroid hormone if there's a chance the remaining half of my thyroid will get going on its own. I haven't been offered any either! The T4 does seem to be just within the range. I'm waiting to hear from the consultant who said he would ring me once he had my results.
It depends how you are feeling. I was first diagnosed hypo with results very similar to yours. I felt unusually cold all the time, my hair was gradually thinning and I felt increasingly tired and just slightly unmotivated and not enjoying things so much as usual. Watch out for these symptoms and if you notice yourself becoming hypo then get your doctor to prescribe T4 for you. Even a small amount makes a noticeable difference. I hope your thyroid gets going again soon, these are not normal results.
Thanks, eeng. I'm still waiting to hear from the consultant so it's very much a case of going on how I feel - which is still OK at the moment. I'm a bit sweaty but I have had hiperhydrosis of the face and scalp since I was a child. It stopped whilst I was on Carbimazole but seems to be returning. I've never been cold in my life so maybe that's not going to be one of my symptoms. Did your thyroid get going again or are you taking T4 now? It must be a good feeling when the remaining portion gets going!
