Are these results since taking thyroxine?

If they are, you probably could do with T3 as you want it to be upper. You could also try more T4 first as sometimes having a bit more can cause better conversion which in turn gives a higher T3 reading.

No this is before I started thyroxine. My dr put me on 25mg for one week then upped it to 50 mg ? . Thanks

Is the 0.71 for TSH correct? Normally for underactive thyroid you would expect the TSH to be above the range. Or have you been diagnosed with hypopituitary related hypothyroidism? Your T3 is near the bottom of the range but you do seem to be converting it so it's worth trying thyroxine on its own first, as Hayface says it may well push up both T4 and T3 levels.

If this is pituitary related have they also looked at your adrenal function?

I don't know if is pit unity related , and they haven't checked my adrenal function. I have been having symptoms of hypothyroidism for a years, and have had tests for tsh and t4 in the past since 2007 ! However , my t4 was always just within range and my tsh was higher in previous tests.

I came about having these tests again, as I was referred to endocrine as my t4 came back just in the range and my cortisol was quite low, so the endocrine ordered more cortisol tests and the tsh t4 and t3 , and the above results were what came back.

I haven't been back to see the endocrine Dr yet, but my gp looked at my results and based on the t4 being under range, he put me on thyroxine.

The endo, had written to my gp, saying he anticipated that my tests would come back normal ! So I'm wondering if he will agree with my gp putting me on thyroxine ! :/

I'm not very knowledgeable about the whole thyroid thing , but I do know it definitely has been affecting me for some time now, and it is in my family.

Cortisol is an indication of adrenal function. Did you have a synacthen test for this? When do you see endo again? My interpretation is that you are hypothyroid as your T4 is very low, but normally this would make the TSH rise and yours is still relatively low. I would ask them about this.
