TSH 2.37, T3 4.7, T4 16.9, TPO antbodies 513, Vit B12 514 and Folate 15.2. On 125 of Levo which was increased from 50 over 2 yrs since original diagnosis of hypo. Don't have the energy to run and hair continually shedding. Am I undermedicated? Thanks.

Hi A good endo test all relevant things. If no good, or not happy, ask for a re referral to some one of your choice, careful research.Like every thing good and bad.Fact that GP gave you one referral, second should not be a problem getting another one.Best consultants,, in any field, test for all that matters, first visit. Do like the bloods but treat on symptoms. ,.

I hope that helps. be sure yourself, that you are having the correct treatment, in every way.

Best wishes,

Jackie.

Just re read you exact question. All bloods no use without ranges, phone endo sec and ask for blood results + ranges. You should certainly have had Diabetes, and Vit D tested, both hormonal, diabetes also autoimmune, like thyroid can be. Also any other tests endo thinks you need. If T4 high in range and FT3 on the low side, you would then need some T3 and perhaps the same T4 or a little less. Depends on results. T3 on a script reduces TSH a little, helps weight ,etc etc.

I had a TSH of 2.36 recently and I felt dreadful so I argued with my GP until she increased it by 25mcg's and now I feel a bit better. I don't like telling people on here if they need more meds as I am not medically qualified to do so but it may be worth your while asking for a trial increase to see how you go as your T3 could be a bit higher and your T4 is mid range (that's going by an average range as you have not included your ranges).

Your B12 could also do with being a little higher (700 - 900). Did you, or have you, had your VitD tested and if so what was that like. Being low in VitD can give you all the classic thyroid symptoms.

I went to see an Endo,he spoke to me for approx three minutes, done no blood tests or in fact no tests at all, he then got up from his chair opened the door and told me to get out, so my appointment lasted approximately five minutes with him being very rude to me. He did not like the fact that i had private tests done, he said they were normal when in fact they were not, as i had them done at Genova Diagnostics which is one of the places recommended by Thyroid UK.

What is it about Endos that they get a bad press so often.

I've only met one- and it was the classic case, sorry to say.

[Non-thyroid issue -allegedly!]

At least, from reading here- you're in good company.
