Return to normal after colonoscopy?

For those who had one (I'm up to 5), how quickly did your guts recover? Any problems?

Three weeks in my guts are terrible, really painful, struggling to control.

Probably no physical damage but maybe the upset.

Tried everting and everyone.

For me its usually a week. I have seen that the prep used can be different on recovery for me. I tend to have a few days of passing a ton of gas and partial stool as I refill the system.

I’ve had a colonoscopy & sigmoidoscopy & both have left me with painful guts & feeling very weak for quite a while. When you think of the prep before, which knocks you about to start with, then the procedure, which is invasive really, it must take a while for it all to settle down & get back to ‘normal’ (whatever that is 😵‍💫).

Perhaps run it past your gastro/GP to see if it should be lasting that long.

Best wishes.
