having real problems at the minute bad flare up having to get up through the night multiple times loose just like water bad cramps thought i had appendicitis.Been to Gastro said ibs no weight loss and 3 normal FITS really got a grip this time so fed up taking Alverine 120mg any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have some general advice about what to try for IBS to help you manage it more long term in a previous post of mine:

By the way, having to get up in the middle of the night with diarrhoea doesn't seem normal for IBS. If you try all the normal IBS remedies in the link above and these don't work, ask your GP about BAM (Bile Acid Malabsorption).

Yes that’s a red flag apparently my doctor told me as I had an episode of nighttime diarrhoea but then settled, I think if you have IBS it does happen at night so I wouldn’t jump to conclusions.

I declined another colonoscopy because I’ve had several an doesn’t show anything!

I think we know our own bodies better
