Omeprazole

Hi wonder any one can help.

I have recently increased my daily dosage from one to two tablets, since doing this I have noticed a very bitter taste & I must say some smelly wind.

Could this be the increase of Omeprazole ?

hI not sure if its the omeprazole causing this but if u suspect it is u could ask your dr to change you to esomeprazole its virtually same thing but a bit better I take 2 tablets a day and have no side effects from it at all ,they don't just give it without asking as it's more expensive than the omeprazole but I find it very good ,have u changed anything else in your diet or eaten a new food that could account for symptoms?

Hi, thanks for reply, I also wonder if it could be my Mebeverine , sometimes I get the coated ones & sometimes the not coated, hard to explain, depends which ones the chemist has in stock.

Hi, I've not had any of those symptoms at all. Try speaking to your gp or a pharmacist.

I’ve totally come off omzoperole since the specialist told my mum years of taking them has what’s caused her kidney failure they are bad things to be on long term be careful and do some research

I was having horrendous indegestion and acid and a sore taste I stopped them and after about a week it all settled down and was much better without than with them

They can take away too much acid from your stomach and this can cause a rebound affect

your comment is very interesting I’ve been on them 28 days felt horrible whilst on them & still getting episodes of heartburn & discomfort between shoulder blades …. Off them my second day now & hoping the symptoms go away or next step is H pylori test

Did omeperazole not work for u at all

I can’t say it didn’t work a little for a time but my symptoms deffo improved off it I take half a spoon of bicarb in water most days and peppermint oil capsules this also helps
