I want to go to my Gp about the excessive sleeping but it makes me fell so unwell.

Well, hyperthyroid definitely can lead to tiredness. What do you take for it? Maybe it needs to be upped, or changed out.

Do you suffer from depression? That could also be a culprit. Same advice there.

Definitely go see your GP. I'm sure they can help. It's supposedly the most common complaint doctors hear, but I'm sure you've got a couple of things that they can focus on here.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I take Levothyroxine 50MCG in the morning. Yes I suffer from Depression and have suffered from it for years but the past 11 years it got worse due to my father passing away and I was referred to a Psychiatrist which I still see every 6 months.I wish I could go and see my Gp but I just feel so tired all the time, I've had appointments which I've had to cancel due to the tiredness.

It's making my Depression worse

You need to see your GP. Try to force yourself to go even if you are very tired. It could be depression, underactive thyroid, but there could also be other causes which you should have checked out.

There can be other things. You owe it to yourself to see your doctor.

Aren't dogs amazing? Or any pets really, because they keep us just about together in this world, and our feet on the ground. I think they are sent from heaven to help us cope with this life sometimes when we lose everything.

I am sorry for the loss of your mother. Blessings.

Some of what you feel might be grief? Just wanting to sleep all the time can be connected to depression, and sometimes it happens with grief. It's a wish to escape maybe?

But the physical issues you have are enough to make you feel this without anything else.

It's difficult when we are comfortable in bed, don't need to eat, can drift in and out of a safe place, to force ourselves up, to make ourselves eat, shower, go to the dreaded toilet....etc.

Sometimes I have felt something like that : "If I don't get up, I don't have to poop or eat or face any of the things of the day!!" But then, I always do. Mainly because I just want to keep a routine going. And I always have this hope that randomly my IBS will disappear or ease up for the day as it sometimes does with no rhyme or reason.

Are you on Thyroxin or some treatment for the low thyroid? You need to keep in close contact with the doctor if you feel that's not helping as the dose may have to be tweaked.

Grief counselling might help too if you can find someone to work with whom you trust? Or if you can afford weekly sessions which shouldn't cost the earth and you do deserve if it's possible financially.

Otherwise be brave. Set yourself a time (like 9 hours sleep) and after that you get up no matter what, and spend time with your little dog at least (who will appreciate connecting with you), and face the day and find some routines to get hold of, no matter how boring they may seem. Try to soldier on. Many blessings.

Hi Luisa22, thanks for your reply. Your exactly 100% correct about my little ( hero ) dog, he has been sent from heaven, I was meant to get him when he was a little puppy + at times I think it's my father back again as a dog.My father died May 2011 and my little dog was born May 2011, there's someone looking after.

He has also kept me sain after my mother died May 2021, I don't know how I would be just now if I didn't have him to keep me company.

I take 50mg Levothyroxine a day but I think I need to visit my Gp to get some answer.

Hi. I don't know what the situation is where you are, but can you ask for a phone appointment with your doctor? If this isn't something that they typically give then explain to them why you are unable to go into the surgery, you never know, they might make an exception.

Are you taking anything for the depression? I too suffer from that, and take Citalopram. Don't know where I 'd be without that.

Hi winning, yes I'm on medication for my depression infection I had to ask my Gp to increase the dosage. I was given the same as you but it didn't agree with me so I take Mirtazapine now

Hi rosco1 I am sorry to read about the loss of your mum and all that you are going through. I would say that all of your symptoms have flared up because of your grief. I have experienced that awful fatigue and no energy to do anything, I remember sitting on the bed looking out the window and wondering how everyone had the energy to walk around! I went from a very active sociable person to a zombie overnight, it is soul destroying!, I feel much better now thankfully and unfortunately you will need to go or speak to your doctor. My doctor prescribed b12 injections for the fatigue and it honestly brought me back from the brink, even though my bloods didn't show a b12 deficiency - they are prescribed for chronic fatigue and really worked for me. I wish you all the best and hope you find the strength to go to your gp, maybe don't make an appointment and go as an emergency on a day you feel up to it. I'm so glad you have your little dog with you, they are just the best and mine makes me laugh every day. Take care 🙂

There has to be something in that. Your lovely little doggie born in May 2011 and your father passing away the same month. I do know those in Spirit keep an eye on us. They can't solve all of our problems of course. We have to work those out, but they still love us and will help when they can, with love and encouragement.

There's something about dogs. I wonder if they volunteer to help us with learning about love?
