I regularly get woken around 2am and my stomach will be gurgling excessively and it then seems to produce lots of gas which gets trapped for an hour or so. It can keep me awake for a good few hours. I also experience nausea.
My gp doesn’t seem to help. I’ve seen 5 gastroenterologists, had a colonoscopy and endoscopy in 2019, a ct scan and ultrasound scan also. They all say it’s IBS but I hate that it wakes me from my sleep.
I had it last night from approx 2-4am and my tummy is still gurgle and feels gassy. I’m exhausted 😩
Is there anything I can do to stop this? I am already on the low fodmap diet.

I feel for you I've had exactly the same but I've been put on Lansoprazole for the acid and wind and it seems to have helped don't wake up as much now worth asking ur GP for some to c if it will help you
Yup . Woke me up again early hours. Gave up and got up. It sounds like a thunderstorm going on in there with trapped painful wind just stuck !! IBS is the pits and you have my sympathy. I can't offer any help as I haven't found anything , other than brandy, that eases it! So I'll end up an alcoholic too at this rate . It's a nightmare . Gentle hugs ❣️
hello have a read of all my previous posts 2 stone lost to constant diarrhea wind gurgling and going up to 20 times a day in the end discovered it was lanzoprosol and statins, nightmare , couldnt even go to another room when it was bad,
rustydog a thiamine deficiency may be a possible cause of your symptoms. Anti thiamine factors compound the subject. Thiamine needs magnesium to become bio active yet pain, stress and diarrhea are among some of the causes of magnesium loss. If your taking a multivitamin or B-Complex increasing magnesium may be enough however be aware of three forms of thiamine , TTFD, benfotiamine and sulbutiamine, that offer high absorption levels. Always consult with your health care professional before using any supplement.
I've had a similar symptoms but it would feel like my stomach was flipping over and waking me 2am 4 am and 6am for nearly 2 years ,gp,s are useless, I tried 2 buscopan for the first time before bed last night and it really helped I'm hoping it wasn't just luck ,I'm going try again tonight
