Hi everyone. I've had IBS forever. Over 30 years. I also have GERD. I started the FODMAP diet over a year ago, sorted out what upsets my stomach and I was happy with that. I've recently started being woken in the night with gas pains and loose stools then felt awful all of the next day. I've recently, about 3 months ago, come off a very low dose, 2.5ml amytriptaline. I've also just started taking localised low dose estrogen. Has anyone got any ideas? Thanks.

Hi my dear, I am a guy but have learnt much about the body due to many ailments. If you have low estrogen or heading towards menapause (not saying you are) that will slow down your digestion. This will not help your ibs.The extra estrogen will improve that to a degree.
